I read through three threads you started. I’m glad you’re working with people to have duplicates removed, but there has to be some consistent mechanism for deciding which will become gyms when there are two, six and 20 locations in a level 14 cell. My understanding is that it is currently based on which are created first. What would you say to people who are trying to create legitimate wayspots in their area for pokemon go players based on this knowledge only to have it changed because someone else thinks their efforts are somehow unfair? Let me say again because it was at the start of this comment that I do understand “duplicates = bad.”
To answer your question yes you could be right that whichever waystop was created first should or would turn into a gym but the point here is that’s the waystop that has become a gym is a manipulated waystop and doesn’t technically exsist so what we are trying to do and discuss is that we need to find those extra waystop that are actually duplicates because that is not how wayfarer is supposed to work to make it better we need to just add images to the valid pokestops that are already there if we want to go ahead and show that particular object or whatever it may be , but it doesn’t may sense to go against rules and violate them by uploading a duplicate or another added on stop just for their benefit
To be clear @Ironcane07 it will be up to Wayfarer what to do with the wayspots and how to resolve the situation. Similarly if there are other instances nearby. Once that has been finalised it will then be up to sync to decide what if any the impact is in Pokemon Go.
You have identified a messy duplicate. You need to wait and see what happens next.
It definitely does not have to be the one created first. I have had the most recently submitted one become the gym.
You can search Google for theories on what makes something become a gym, but someone asking about one of those theories on the old forum was told that trying to manipulate which becomes a gym is abuse. So I don’t share possible ways to do that.

I think it would be an incredibly complex task even to work through nevermind getting Niantic to take action on it.
A lot of the Wayspots that may look like abuse were actually added by Niantic themselves.

As an example this area has Abrar Masjid (Blue x) and something named Reliance Digital( RED x) in the same cell
I’m not sure which shows in game for you. If it’s not Abrar Masjid and you tried to add it would be marked as a duplicate I think.
If you ask Niantic to remove Reliance Digital I’m not sure they would.
Hope do you work out as someone attempting to add new Wayspots which has been added by ‘abuse’ and which are ‘official’ Niantic Wayspots.
Is it actually abuse to submit a thing that is the same kind of thing where Niantic has added a thing with a different name and no photo of it? This is a complete mess.
I do appreciate that Niantic wanted to make the games playable for the region.
Personally I’d say no.
Maybe the memory cheats but I don’t think Ingress players can even see any of those Wayspots.

idk for sure and i am not about to try to sift through those app locations to compare to iitc, but i know ingress can’t see the courtsoftheworld database additions here, but pogo can

Thank you for that hopefully they look into this
They are not in Ingress. It makes using intel and ITTC not easy.
I’m not sure if they follow the normal inclusion rules.

Sadly correct. 
While all Wayspots will be added to our Niantic map, it is still left to each game’s inclusion rules to determine which Wayspots will make it into their games. Please be advised that these new Wayspots will not be present on the Ingress map.
Maybe they’ll revisit it again later and decide to sync them?
