This kind of review is appearing a lot to me, but most of them contains some boxes with blank pictures. Should I mark them as pictures that do not meet the criteria? Should I mark that all the pictures are ok? Why this happens? I upload an example.
Hi @jupkmn
Welcome to the forum
For the empty photo there’re two possible reasons.
The wayspot in question…
- … was imported (from a database and not over the nomination process)
- … have had a bad photo (and that was the only one) and it was successful requested for deletion
I think that edits in this case trying to fix the emptyness and choose that the empty one doesn’t fit to the criteria.
Welcome!
Photo edits are just about adding the new photo(s). Old ones won’t be removed. I usually x the placeholder photo, but it really doesn’t matter.
Hello and welcome! From the language and the blank picture it looks like it could be Brazil? (Please let me know if I made a wrong assumption)
Brazil and other countries (India, Turkey, …) have experienced imports of POI from various sources that became wayspots that are only eligible to appear in Pokémon GO. They have this placeholder picture and some of them are not very precise or not very eligible. Here it looks like a football field was imported (without a picture) and someone on location added a photo to it. So in sum what looks like a totally normal situation and a good use of an imported wayspot. You can then vote on what feels like the most appropriate photo for the location, but as said above it is likely the placeholder won’t disappear. Its removal can be requested through help chat though.
Thank you so much. Yes, I am from Brazil and where I live about half of the pokestops have no pictures in them. Now that I reached the required level I am trying to add pictures and using the review stuff it seems that lots of different cities here have the same problem.
Got it. It’s not really a “problem” in the sense that they were imported like that without pictures to give the local Pokémon GO communities more to interact with, but yeah they look very strange from the point of view of Wayfarer. It’s commendable that you and other locals are adding photos! Going forward remember that the pictureless ones are not necessarily examples of eligible things that you should submit yourself, as they get to bend a lot of rules on what is a quality wayspot (The football field is perfectly fine though)
