Questions about process

I guess some important FAQ that was missed and i think it is critical for all Pokemon Go players/trainers would like to know is

How is the process in making sure the nominated and accepted pokestop can be seen in pokemon go map?

what i mean process the step by step process

like, a trainer nominated a pokestop,

  1. Nominated a Pokestop
  2. Upload a photo of the nominated pokestop
  3. Wait for a review in Wayfarer
  4. got a notification whether accepted or denied
  5. if denied appeal
  6. if accepted wait for 48 hours before it will appear on Pokemon Go Map
  7. after 48 hours, what is the next step???
  8. ???
  9. ???
  10. ???

see what I mean, this is i think the vital information that the trainer wants
is the procedure after, and where they can go to
what is the sync time? if there is a sync time
when is the test time?

these kind of information can definitely help a lot of players of the game and can introduce longevity of the game,

remember the maps that you uploaded last 3 months is different from the maps today
every street, every places, changes in every country

hopefully this comment goes in the right direction for all parties involved.

Hello and welcome,

We have a discussion going already asking for a Wayfarer map, but we have no idea if we’ll get one:

Pokémon Go users nominate Wayspots not PokéStops as an important distinction.

A Wayspot may become a PokéStop if it meets the inclusion rules on Pokémon GO, after (up to) 48 hours after being accepted.

If it doesn’t meet those inclusion rules, it’s still in the database but it is not used by Pokémon GO

Thank you for this information and point taken

So this is where i think everyone is stuck and my it is my initial question, where do we go after
the 48 time window?

I have some accepted wayspot and it meets the requirement of a pokemon Go
however, the accepted wayspot is over 3 months now and over 4 weeks now

So That is why i created the question, what will be the next step after the 48 time window?

Im sure you have some insights since you are an ambassador for the pokemon go games
if you have information on how or where do we go after the 48 hour window has lapses.

is there a forum or existing forum that is maintained by pokemon support team?
because there is no actual steps after 48 hour window, every pokemon go trainer beyond level 37 knows about the 48 hour window, what comes after the 48 hour window?

If the nomination does not meet PokemonGos inclusion rules, there is nowhere to go. It stays in the database and can become a pokestop or gym in the future if something else gets removed or moved.

Hello @zero4ones

If it doesn’t appear after 48 hours people come to this forum and open up a new topic about their nomination.
The community here will try to help clarify the specific circumstances.
In nearly all cases the issue is that the wayspot has not been selected by the Pokémon Go inclusion process.
An accepted wayspot gets put in a database. That is the point at which you get the email. That is the end of the wayfarer process.
It is then checked and if it meets the inclusion rules set by Pokémon Go it will selected and appear on the map as a pokestop or gym.
If it doesn’t it stays in the database and if it meets different inclusion rules it could appear as a powerspot.
If it meets neither of those it stays in the database ready for use if Pokemon Go decides it is needed at some future point.
The key inclusion rules are determined by some mapping software explained in this article.
https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

If you would like to provide the title of the wayspot and its location and when it was accepted we will try our best to explain but our mapping tools are not updating.

I will split this to create its own topic in nomination support.

Your nomination may…

  • become a Powerspot (Dynamax / Gigantamax) depending on its proximity to other waypoints.
  • replace the existing waypoint if that is removed for legitimate reasons. ***
  • be used in other Scopely games.

***Do Not attempt to get a legitimate wayspot removed just to get yours on to the map. This is seen as Abuse and can lead to suspension / bans of all accounts (Wayfarer, Pokemon Go and any other Scopely games.

Thank you very much for this feedback,
i checked this https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

it seems outdated, hopefully they can provide the same guide for 2026
since 6 years ago, there are lot of changes on google maps, and the s2 cells is not updated anymore.

Thanks again for the feedback

Thanks for the feedback everyone
I found one useful map
One Pokestop per lvl17 cell; 3 or more Pokestops per lvl14 cell gets you a gym

That map will be useful but the problem is it can only show 1 “level” at a time.

2 occupied cells will get you a Gym
6 occupied cells will get you a 2nd Gym
20 occupied cells will get you a 3rd Gym.

As long as you are aware of it’s limitations I use pogomap.info for the same reason but…

  • Some people state that the S2 Cells are not accurate, I have found when used with “OpenStreetMap” setting they are accurate.
  • The Waypoints are user entered so are inaccurate / out of date. Useful only if you are willing to spend the time to confirm / correct them.
  • This will show you both the L14 and L17 at the same time which is useful to see which L17 cells fall within the L14 cell.
