Receiving Nominations from Banned Countries

Hi!

I’m a little bit stuck on what to do with nominations I’m receiving for review from a neighbouring country where Pokemon Go has been blocked. I’m not exactly sure what the proper etiquette for review there is. Can anyone advise? Thank you!

There are no per country rules for criteria. My advice would be to review it as you would any other nomination. If you are uncomfortable with reviewing it, you can skip it.

In my opinion, we shouldnt bring country into this. Just review like normal. Whoever submit the wayspot probably just another person who want to play just like you. Whether they can use the wayspot or not is another matter entirely.

Thanks for getting back. I asked around in my local community and the feedback I received there was that it may not be considered suitable due to the game being unavailable, but I guess as long as the spot itself is correct and meets requirements, it doesn’t really matter where it’s located? It’s not so much uncomfortable as we’re already reviewing submissions in 5-6 languages anyway, but I’m a little bit worried for my own stats.

I completely understand! It definitely was not my intention to single out any players, just needed some help clarifying the guidelines as my question doesn’t seem to be a common one. I’ve now edited my post to hopefully reflect on this better as well.

The more I think about it, if Niantic wanted us to check if a review is from a banned country before processing it, I think there would be a mention of that somewhere in the review flow. And there isn’t. Just review as normal, or skip.

I wouldn’t begin to know if a country is banned or not fwiw.
