Could we get a filter on our Wayfarer contributions that orders our nominations by “the most popular” that have been used the most with the number of times that they’ve been used?
Maybe something like a Top 5 and Bottom 5?
The top 5 is just nice to know, the bottom 5 could be used to know which we could mention in local groups (campfire, whatsapp etc).
I added a couple poi right next to Bryant park in nyc while I was at gofest. I am assuming that might’ve helped. I also have a bunch at Hilton Head Island in the heart of the trourist area. I think I am around 750 total poi added to Pokemon go so that probably helped as well.
I would love that option on our routes too. That would help while making them to see what players enjoy the most while doing routes.
routes are not a wayfarer thing, but that would be a cool suggestion to the pokemon go team
Yeah I can imagine those central/tourist spots are why you’ve got such a high number of players interacting
My stuff is pretty much all suburban/local interaction stuff so I’m at just under 17k
I think if they had a toggle on it to switch from most popular to least popular like they do from newest to oldest that would be cool. You could definitely go to the less popular areas and hunt around for other stuff to nominate in those areas to pump those numbers up too.
This would not work with the email, maybe a suggestion to put these details in with the contributions page…
I thought it was cool to see the traffic my contributions have generated. However, I was surprised about how high the number was for a month!
While I have more than 1500 approve nominations to my credit, a significant number of them are trail markers where I’d expect low foot traffic. Yet, I was told they had more than 260,000 visits from over 7000 people. Without going into “forbidden territory” here, that made me wonder how many of those 260k/7k visits/people were actual people. There’s no way we can know that.
It’s a fantastic addition.
I’d love to see more unique Wayfarer related stats, such as your most popular addition of the month/all time.
A post was merged into an existing topic: Not receiving Wayfarer statistics email
Getting this email has definitely lit a fire under me to go out to submit. I had been taking a bit of a break since we lost the map and 40 nominations. But I nominated over 20 things last weekend. I found a neighborhood where the amenity area has been completely redesigned but satellite has not caught up with new images. It’s really disorienting trying to figure out how to map it. Plus there was a father and daughter on the playground…in the rain… so I didn’t want to disturb them by wandering around taking photos and looking at my phone while pacing around like a madwoman.
If the total number of approved Wayspots could be displayed on the search screen, I wouldn’t have to count them myself.
There are unofficial TamperMonkey scripts that give you your wayspot counts. I don’t know if they can be mentioned because I don’t know if Niantic strongly disapprove of them.
Thank you for your guidance.
Hello, has it been asked what counts as a ‘wayspot [that] made it into one or more games’? For instance, I just saw that a nomination I had accepted in September is now a power spot following the latest sync. That surely counts as it is in game, but was not at the point of email cutoff. Does this category only count pokestops and gyms? Or does it factor in Power Spot eligibility criteria when it is accepted?
Great question. You made me curious too about this
I can manually account for my email’s 26 ‘new wayspots that made it into one or more games’ as being pokestops or gyms. Of my other 13, at least two are now Power Spots. So I guess that answers at least part of my question. The next thing is whether October will include those in the new tally. EDIT: and I only submitted one wayspot in August (became a pokestop) so that was not something included in the September Power Spot sync.
With the AMA over and my q getting just one other vote I’ll post it again here. The October stats email will be here soon after all:
Your new email is great! I loved reading my stats and sharing and comparing them to others.
In the section marked Wayspots You Helped Bring to Life you break down the numbers into two categories: Nominations Accepted and New Wayspots.
I want to know whether ongoing emails will factor in Nominations Accepted that have subsequently become Power Spots in Pokemon Go? Since Power Spot sync appears to take place on the 4th/5th of the month, your email is ill timed to include these currently.
Will the three (or could be more) Nominations Accepted I had from September that now appear as Power Spots by part of my next stat list or is the Power Spot system simply too convoluted to factor into these numbers?
Thanks!
