Rejected VR Postbox in Dublin

Yeah I getcha, these are like really historical though, Any ideas on how to get it past the ai?

Read that U.K. postbox topic it has ideas about how it is presented to maximise the chance of not being rejected. Yours may be more problematic as it is not red  so not what Emily ( nickname for the auto program) has learnt to expect.

On your original image if you still have it does it have

WT Allen
Smith and Hawkes
BP Walker

At this bit

It’s hard to see but I think I see ‘Allen’

Thanks

No reason other than geekiness.

No worries, I’ve just been trying to get it past the filter and I’m not sure how, Ive worded it differently each time too.

You could have a try at an appeal.
You could emphasise the social history this encapsulates from a time prior to independence- in some ways I’m surprised it survived. These should be very rare. Any links to information would be good

There’s still quite a few. I think Dublin has about 50 VR.

Why get rid of the perfectly fine and working boxes that the 'orrible Brits left. Just paint them back to the colour they were supposed to be anyway.

Looks perfectly valid, I can’t quite see but it is on the wall of a Post Office?

If you’re triggering a AI rejection it could be several things, although my opinion is that the photo is often the most important reason for rejection. Try a 1:1 aspect ratio, or taking the photo from a different angle. The supporting photo looks odd too, I would recommend taking a picture of the whole building.

It’s been a while since I submitted one, but this one passed the AI six months ago. It’s red of course…

Its outside a train station.

Aha! This one is really interesting to me. All the UK reviewers are chiming in to say that this is eligible and would be voted favorably.

Buuuut, this one is not in the UK! I am very curious how Irish reviewers would feel about a postbox like this. Why aren’t there any George III postboxes in the US?!?!?!

Loads of previous green Victorian postboxes have been accepted too, which is weird.

I get Irish waypoints for review. “UK” get Ireland and some of France.

All?

Because George III died in 1820 and the first UK post box was installed in 1852.

’ He didn’t let us have post boxes.’

Yeah, ones that were submitted by others got accepted.

There are some here, you can filter at the top right to boxes with cyphers

A few of the VR on here are in the database. Until you know why it’s rejected it’s difficult to know what to change on your submission🥴

This is what I was trying to recommend for a photo. TY! The ai needs a little context for the box, but not so much that it is confused by the background.

So I should try to get a better pic of it?
