Rejected? Why?

I sent this in and was rejected. I discussed it with others before on the spot, and from what I was told there isn’t anything in the cell and it should have gone through. Do you have any thoughts on why it was rejected and if there is anything I can do in the appeal process?

Please provide:

  • A screenshot of your nomination, including rejection reasons if it has already been rejected
  • Include the title, description, both photos, and supplemental information
  • Copy and paste the title, description and supplemental so others can translate them
  • If you feel comfortable please share the location, as it is helpful (i.e. hidden duplicates), but you can mask it if you wish.

Being alone in a cell has nothing to do with whether a wayspot will be accepted or not, just whether an accepted wayspot can appear in Pokemon Go.

“Various rejection criteria” is not very helpful.

Oh I remember the nearby courthouse! Can you share the coordinates of where you pinned this exactly? Those will be at the end of your submission acknowledge email.

For the description, I think this was fine. Maybe @Gendgi can help you a bit with that because he is great with words.

For the supporting photo, if you were submitting the plaque, you should have showed the plaque in place from several steps back and try to include something that can be verified on street view along with the plaque. I am not sure what you were trying to show with the supporting photo you used.

In the supporting statement, you should explain what criteria you think this meets.

I’m going to guess some rejected for inaccurate location, others may have chosen not permanent/distinct, or even low quality photo for the supporting photo (not what that should be used for).

Is this plaque inside the building? I’m looking at it on Street View, 38.14167927104363, -94.81056317901941, and don’t see it on the outside.

If it’s near one of the entrances, like I think, and isn’t on Street View, I would take a supporting photo showing where in relation it is to the entrance, as well as include this information in supporting info so reviewers can better place it.

The description isn’t bad, but I’d like to see some info about what the building houses, what it’s used for. I’m thinking it was built to help house additional judicial services that outgrew the courthouse (not uncommon). My county courthouse currently has 1 annex building for additional county services, and will soon have a 2nd to better serve the growing population.
