Rejection reason “abuse”

I would like to ask for advice: I have a few nominations running, the first of which has now been returned with the following statement: reason for rejection: temporary (understandable because of the cable ties, but unfortunately I can’t change that) but also “abuse”. Now I know in the meantime that there are apparently people who move these signs to create a wayspot, but the link to the website with the exact locations is included. So my suspicion is that they probably didn’t even bother to look at this.
Now I would like to know what the consequences could be for me if the other nominations are rejected for the same reason?

I feel like I am misunderstanding something in your question. What are the wristbands you are referring to?

To the best of my knowledge, it means at least one, and maybe only one, person thought this was a fake nomination and chose that rejection reason. There is nothing to worry about from a community review having “Abuse” as a rejection reason. If you didn’t get an email from Niantic, then it is just how someone marked the review. I also don’t understand the “wristband” comment, so won’t comment on how to proceed otherwise. Fitness stations seem like good Wayspot candidates to me.

I suspect the wristband comment is meant to mean the be what looks like cable ties which are used to hold the sign onto the post.

@P1dg3ySlayer thx, indeed I meant “cable ties”, don’t know why my spelling corrector changed it :see_no_evil:

It’s ok. These things can happen. I tried to work out what you meant, and could only conclude that you meant the cable ties, unless the signs were going for a quick run…

Thanks for the clarification on the cable ties.

The reason I was curious about wrist bands is that if people include objects as part of the nomination or support photo, that can identify them. That would be considered abuse since it can be used to sway voters.

I saw nothing like that in your photos, but figured I’d explain her for good measure.
