For #6, #15* and #18 I’ve found no definitly match so far.

I’ve some thoughts after writing this down but want to follow one of my mantras “community first…”

Edit: deleted the assumpted #15 for the free text field and added #26 to the list (fresh example was provided)

#18 is an ML/staff rejection reason, I believe. This post about a rejected natural feature mentions that it was rejected by ML, later rejected by the appeals team for being a natural feature.

ML can reject for more than not meeting criteria these days, it would seem.

But with other reasons than #8? I mean ML rejections.

They said it was an ML rejection, but it could have been staff.

Most of the time, when someone has something rejected and they ask for help, we make sure to ask about what the email said. With anything rejected by “our team,” they have gotten to be varied, so it seems that ML/staff are using other rejection reasons than the ones that can come from community voting. This would make sense for #6 as well, since the only way I can think of the community giving this reason is if both a reason under Photo/Title/Description is chosen along with a reason under Abuse; it also doesn’t seem to be used as much as it was when the rejection reasons first changed.

This was reported as a “Natural features” rejection by the community.

Oh could it possibly be a “comment” out of the free text field?

… and I’ll start with something easy
If I counted correct we’ve 31 ways of rejecting (ML incl., Staff review excl.).
We could provide 26 community examples of received rejection reasons (1 only seen in french).
If I’ve sorted correct we’ve 16 perfect matches (#1 - 3, 7 - 9, 11 - 14, 16, 17, 19, 20, 22, 23).

First question until now: Do you think these 16 given reasons reflecting correctly where/why the submission failed?

This one has #6 and as well as “The proposal contains abusive content,” which I don’t see on the list. Appeals team rejected for inaccurate location, and looking at Street View where the pin was placed, I couldn’t accurately place the nomination.

I wonder, if instead of choosing inaccurate location, there may have been a mix of choosing Other abuse/fake nomination or even clicking on the Report button and doing so.

Next thoughts are about abuse.

These 6 ways of rejection could count as abuse:

  1. Accuracy → Bad photo → Third party photo
  2. Accuracy → Bad photo → Watermark
  3. Accuracy → Abuse → Fake nomination
  4. Accuracy → Abuse → Explicit content
  5. Accuracy → Abuse → Influencing reviewer
  6. Accuracy → Abuse → Other abuse related reasons

Questions until now:
Do you think these reasons should result in a rejection for abuse?
Do you think to summarize them under rejection reason #6 is adequat?
Do you think rejection reason #6 needs rewording? If yes in what direction?

Don’t forget we’ve only seen 25(26) examples. Maybe they exist separate but we can’t give evidence by now.

Oh funny that we talk about the same things at same time.

My problem with this example is that the origin is not in english. The other example in french we’ve also never seen again.

Ha! Weird!

Well, for the most recent one, #6 is confusing, as the pin was misplaced, and didn’t have anything offensive in the text/photo. It’s a mural with butterflies and flowers on it at a local soccer field. All I can think of is that either an abuse reason and another Accuracy reason was selected, or the reviewer used the Report button.
