Additional Information (if any):Someone in my city is once again removing PokéStops by shifting them a few meters into different cells that already contain a PokéStop—solely to get them removed. That is exactly what happened to this PokéStop; I would appreciate it if it could be moved back to the original location where I created it.
I would also appreciate it if you could check which player submitted the request to move this PokéStop and block that player from submitting any further changes to the infrastructure in Pokémon GO or other games.
Since you’re being so nitpicky: the center of the building isn’t where the PokéStop is currently located—it was somewhere else entirely when I submitted it nine months ago.
I am simply pointing out what it looks like on the Wayfarer map. If this is not the correct location as it appears to be, you will need to offer evidence for staff to make an adjustment.
The Pokestop is not located in the center of the building. I am not sure what I said that indicated that. If that green circle is where you submitted the Wayspot, it appears to have been moved quite a bit.
Since you are not finding my comments helpful, I will not make any more on this post unless tagged.
Evidence of where the Pokestop used to be is not the same to staff as the correct position for the Wayspot. If you have evidence that the current location does not represent the real world position of the point of interest, then you should post that for them. Not where you submitted it.
Also giving a friendly note that submitting things where they will be strategically located to become Pokestops or gyms rather than where they actually are is something that staff considers to be abuse.
Staff members who can make decisions on appeals here are easy to identify, and currently have a name beginning with “Niantic”. You don’t need to reply to anyone else here like me trying to help if you don’t want to.
I understand your frustration at losing a location in the game. But the previous posts by @cyndiepooh is very relevant.
At this point it is unclear why it was moved, likely a move edit that was passed by reviewers. To me this location does not appear inaccurate, so you will have to give additional evidence if it is not.
Looking at the building it appears to house several companies. But the logo for the one you have submitted the wayspot for is in this location above a logical point of entry.
Hello
I would like to remind you to be respectful to those trying to help.
It is understandable that if pokestops are disappearing from the game that it will be a frustrating situation. However in order to help fellow wayfinders will need to raise questions. This helps gain an understanding.
So please refrain from using unhelpful phrases such as nit picky.
As you can see, he wasn’t too far from the sign—especially since it’s the only spot where you can get a nice photo.
It was created slightly off-center because there is a PokéStop nearby that prevented a new one from being established.
Put yourselves in my shoes: you try to create PokéStops for the community, and someone—deliberately and out of pure spite—moves them just a few meters, solely so they disappear from the game. After all, someone had to submit an edit for the PokéStop to be moved in the first place.
The same thing was happening over two years ago; on top of that, someone is deliberately removing photos from PokéStops:
There are a lot of these placeholder photos nearby!
On every one of these I checked, the placeholder photo was the oldest photo, not an added photo. However, these are showing as community contributed instead of imported, so I don’t know why they would have had the placeholder photo to begin with. Something is going on with these that I don’t understand. Mods may want to move this part to a separate topic for investigation? Maybe someone else will have an explanation.
I will provide the wayspot link to the first screenshot, but there are lots of these in the area.
You have confirmed that you the situation is as suspected - wayspots are being misplaced solely to make pokestops appear in empty cells, when the correct location would mean they don’t appear or appear as powerstops.
This is abuse and correcting the locations is valid. Do not submit things at the wrong place just to get more pokestops; this risks being flagged as abuse and you will get a suspension on both your wayfarer and game accounts.
Every one I looked at had votes on the placeholder photo, so people are intentionally upvoting those. And I don’t understand why they are still there after a real photo has been added. Something is going on with these besides the original topic post.
100% agree that staff intervention is the best outcome here but if that does not happen then out voting the placeholders is an option as a temporary fix…
