I’m now nervous about the locations of my other indoor ones I recently put in, so I think maybe I should hold or withdraw them and resubmit to make sure everything is accurate? (lol, the struggles of a neurodivergent brain that always wants to do everything absolutely right…) Do you have any input on if I should hold/withdraw? I am relatively newer to adding POIs, with maybe ten approvals or so, so I am still learning.
No, I didn’t receive anything like that. Just the note of “abusive” on the appeal rejection.
And you’ll be able to tell from how new I am at this that I thought abusive meant it had prejudicial, bigoted, or explicit content, which is why I was so confused! I knew nothing of this cell thing.
You can get the coordinates from the google map displayed on your contributions page, but it is techy - you have to Inspect the code behind the map and tease out the coordinates from the nia-google-static-map URL.
You and lots of other people as well. This rejection narrative is one of the worst narratives that are pushed out by Scopely Explore.
The “Abuse” rejection narrative can be flagged for a nomination for any of the following reasons (roughly in order of how often they occur):
* The photo is not yours (e.g., taken from streetview, found on another website)
* The wayspot location pin is misplaced
* The wayspot is deliberately misrepresented (e..g., on school property but pretending it isn’t)
* The nomination is believed to be fake
* Another nomination was flagged and all of yours have been flagged as a consequence
* The text itself is abusive
* The nomination is controversial and likely to be offensive (e.g., a mural of terrorists)
* (there may be others)
If you didnt receive any warning or suspension then iits just nomination rejection. But please be warned that if you keep nominating without rechecking the coordinate, you are risking suspension on your pogo account
Indoor Submissions can be tricky.
If you use websubmit you can have up to 5 images to help prove your submission.
So for example the images in this post could be included along with other positional photos.
Include a weblink in the supplementary Information to the business and the reviewers can then easily see that it exists and where.
I agree the business itself would be feasible.
For the picture try taking a new one and see if you can reach high enough to avoid the rail and a closer crop.
If we are moving on to suggestions for a resubmit, this “mural” just looks like generic advertising to me. If it actually is a hand painted work of art, go into the shop and take a great photo of it, and credit the artist. If is is just corporate art, then I think you would be better off to submit the shop. But as others have illustrated, the correct location does not appear to be eligible to become a pokestop.
Oh, no, now I am very confused… I get that “abuse” is broad, but now it looks like they are implying it was what I thought… so, as someone suggested, I was going through my other mall POIs and I looked back at this one and wanted to see the map… and now, it says both “abusive” and “ The text or photo contains abuse, ridicule, or harassment of a specific person or group”*
I have two different screenshots… one that I posted originally with just abuse and one that says that… I don’t know what in the text or photo contains abuse, ridicule, or harassment… and that is upsetting to me that it is flagged that way.

I wish that Scopely Explore could correct the abuse rejection narrative, as people routinely interpret it the way it is written. Since your text or photo does not contain abuse, ridicule, or harassment of a specific person or group, but that is exactly what you have been told, it’s very understandable to get confused by this and not have any idea what the actual problem is.
Since almost everyone who gets this narrative misunderstands it, until they are used to it, the narrative is wrong and needs fixing.
That’s just how it ends up as soon as abuse is flagged for any reason.
if you get this again, don’t worry about how the narrative looks or how it changes, just treat it as meaning “abuse”, then look at the list of likely causes I posted to see which one is the actual problem.
Okay, but now I’m confused because I just got a bunch flagged for the same reason that are 100% in the right place… could you look at these examples and tell me what I could have done wrong? I do generally focus my submissions in a specific area I start considering, and maybe there are too many there? But I think about large cities and how many POI are close by, and I just don’t understand. I try to do them all in case some aren’t added into Pokemon, as has happened with a few of my earliest accepted POI.
The Weathered Dragon one I even had submitted before and it was flagged “inaccurate location,” not abuse, so I resubmitted and made sure to have the right place.
And now I do have a violation thing for the Pokemon Mural… so I guess it was just a delay after the rejection? I really didn’t mean to get the location wrong, and my other ones do have correct locations, so I just don’t understand and I am kind of upset and don’t want to lose my account.
I think I’m just going to stop putting in Pokestops, even though I was really enjoying finding places. I love my city and pride myself about knowing lots of stuff about it, and this was a fun chance to show it, so I’m disappointed.
It’s possible that all of your pending submissions were auto-rejected once Niantic had reviewed the location error that had been flagged. This is standard practice for certain types of abuse, although I cannot state that it always happens.
If the rejections all came after the Scopely Explore investigation and all of your pending submissions were rejected, this does not necessarily mean you did anything wrong over and above what has already been discussed.
It is natural when coming up against a warning or a suspension for this to change how you view submissions. You may be best taking a break and seeing how you feel in a few days or weeks.
Many wayfarers submit lots of wayspots without getting a single warning, even though lots of their submissions will be rejected. Many wayfarers have had warnings, learnt from this and returned to wayfaring without further issue (in the case of @TjoeMi, ending up as an Ambassador on this forum).
I am hoping that is the case, that it was just an auto-review issue and there aren’t going to be like 8 marks on my account for each pending one that was flagged, causing me to be banned forever over one unintentional mistake (probably hyperbolic, but I am feeling a bit overwhelmed right now). I have been using Pokemon Go as a way to be active and force myself to get up and be healthy, and I do not want that taken away.
I am assuming that even though they are in the correct locations, I shouldn’t appeal them at this time?
Sorry, edited to add: I’ve looked at a few other posts and saw that the location thing isn’t supposed to be an issue if you do it through Pokemon Go itself. I didn’t even know that was an option, lol. So if I submit through Go, it should be easier to place the location if I make stops in the future? I have such a hard time with the physically using the location selection well when my photo pulls the wrong geolocation and I have the adjust it.
