Space button not working in Pokemon go when trying to submit a wayspot

Bug Reports should include the following and any additional information you feel is necessary to aid in the investigation of the bug.

  • Description of the issue: When trying to submit a wayspot in the Pokemon Go app it is not possible to write a good title or description, because the space button does not work. The space will work but Pokemon Go immediately sends the space where you are typing back so it looks like you did not use a space.
  • Date or most recently experienced: Today (5-3-2026)
  • Device type, model, and operating system: Different types, mutiple people in my community are experiencing this issue right now.
  • Game & Game Version: Most recent. Updated 10 min ago when this post went live.

Once again thanks for the report. The team is currently investigating the issue. In the meantime, feel free to use any of the following workarounds until the issue is resolved.

  • Make any Wayspot nominations through Wayfarer Web Submission

  • Copy and paste intended text from any other text capable app to include the spaces i.e. notes app, messaging app, etc.

  • Submit the nomination with complete text then place them on Hold and Edit it in the Contribution Management tab to reflect desired text spaces

Just to elaborate for ease of finding the problem. I can confirm that this started for me with Thursday’s forced update (I submitted earlier this week). It’s definitely the app (I have not updated OS or changed any settings). And renaming pokemon is not affected.

I noticed it at around 1445 Pacific time.

Another player in my local Campfire group tested it after I posted there and is also affected.

Am on an iphone 14 pro max running OS 26.2.1.

As title, when doing submissions, the submissions didnt allow me to put spaces in. Was uploading 3 stops, all 3 had the issue even when I closed and reopened the game.

A workaround I saw posted elsewhere was using voice to text to submit the nomination, then be sure to edit from the contributions page.

Looks like its just an issue with pokemon go, as routes werent letting me add spaces either

But ive also noticed that I wasnt allowed to select photos from my phone and I couldnt upload right away, had to select upload later and that worked

Hello Wayfinders,

Thanks for your patience while the team looked into this issue. The issue was been identified and a fix is being implemented along with some other updates in the following days. In the meantime, please continue to use some of the options mentioned above including:

  • Typing out all of your text without the spaces. Once intended text is added without spaces, go back into the text and add spaces after each word.

We know this isn’t ideal and web submission is still the preferred method outside of Pokémon GO.

Hello,

I have had a couple to Review that have been sent with the “No Spaces” issue. Title, Description and Supplement.

Is it recommended to Reject these for low quality data or Accept hoping someone fixes them later.

An observation was made on the Wayfarer Discussion Discord that you can put in a period and then type with spacing as needed if you go back to in front of the period. Apparently only spaces at the end are not registering. Passed along from @featheredmirage

Great question. Unfortunately these are impacted by a bug and I’d hate for the submitter to receive a rejection for that. For any of the submissions impacted by this that appear in your review flow, please skip them and flag these to our internal team for review and editing.

You can flag them to the team via a Wayfarer Support Ticket or here in this thread. For organization purposes, any updates will be added to the original post so that it doesn’t get lost in the thread content.

After installing the latest update from the App Store, the issue seems to be resolved for me. I am also seeing that the map is working as well, so thank you for fixing this!

My app version is 0.401.1-A-64 (in-game) and 0.401.1 (Apple App Store).

I use an iPhone 17 Pro and my OS version is iOS 26.4 Developer Beta (release 4).
