I’ve been involved in a help chat to move a wayspot >10m.
I was informed that the Street View imagery was insufficient to support the move. But I’m pretty sure they have been in the past.
Is this a new policy?
Unfortunately the spot is currently damaged, so until it gets repaired, I can’t get a good geotagged photo so…
If anyone wants to offer advice:
Current: 37.420625,-122.082054
Suggested: 37.420428, -122.081846
Nov 2018 (clear): https://maps.app.goo.gl/NMEG3h4cNctvceP26
Nov 2021 (visible, but new construction makes it hard to find a good view): https://maps.app.goo.gl/pAJKrWHzRQ4ovaU6A
May 2022 (moved, but visible): https://maps.app.goo.gl/J9abjixyrjqBqiAi8
This actual wayspot looks like it has always been in the wrong spot, and now that I’m trying to fix it, it a double whammy. And to top it off, this is the wayspot image:
And this is what it looks like today:
(which is why I wanted to use the SV image as it was still in good shape)
I mean, maybe this would be better as a removal, but still, how would I prove that really is the current sign when the spot is so far off the correct location?
