When entering two Chinese characters in the search bar of the site, it warns “Your search term is too short”. Three characters or more will return the result as expected.
Two Chinese characters is equivalent to a single English word. For example, my term here 苹果 translates to “apple”. Sometimes I need to search through my post histories (mostly removal appeals), and maybe the title of the Wayspot in question only has two characters. In this way, I will not be able to find the post by searching.
Maybe the site manager can waive the term length restriction with Chinese texts?

This is not limited to Chinese, but all languages. Say I want to search for a 2 letter English word, such as do or am. I get the same message that my search term is too short.
Right now, regardless of language, 3 characters is the minimum to search the forums. I can see this being an issue for other languages as well, not just Chinese, such as Japanese or Korean. For example, fire in Japanese can be written as the kanji 火.
Hi @tonygaosh,
Thank you for bringing this up. I’ve taken a look at our settings and have made the appropriate changes. You should now be able to run any search with the minimum of 1 character.
