Just want to double check this one, because I don’t see a sidewalk and feel it would fall under the auspices of “unsafe”. It seems like it is a similar configuration as the unsafe one listed in Little Free Libraries
I agree with this, though I’m also questioning the planning that went into placing this LFL. They could’ve rotated it 90° clockwise so it was facing that path, and moved it a bit closer to that path. That would’ve made much more sense and made it more accessible for its intended usage. From a Wayfarer perspective though, you can clearly touch the side of it from a safe location, so I guess that’s good enough haha.
For what it’s worth, I thought the example in this clarification involved a Little Free Library on private single family property and part of the rationale was that somebody would have to choose between occupying the street (unsafe) or trespassing. That seems to have been lost or maybe in misremembering it.
Not only is there a sidewalk and ramp right there, but there is also a curb cut for mobility impaired people and textured sidewalk for the visually impaired. Both show this is intended as a place for pedestrians to safely cross.
There is also that little “walking man” sign, but most would regard that as temporary, IMO.
Thanks for the appeal, @nexushoratio. We took another look at the Wayspot in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.
