Update to Codename Display - Discussion

I know you can toggle your username being off for submissions (or you used to be able to do this) but I’m just wondering if turning it off now would hide all previous submissions or would only affect future POIs after the toggle is hit?

I’m that one person who kinda liked the anonymity of the “broken” system :face_with_peeking_eye:

I believe it affects all your submissions, past and future.

I don’t think you are the 1 person……many wayfinders choose not to show it for a number of reasons.
The toggle off and on to display is on the wayfarer site when you log in.
The change is very quick

Can anyone post an image of how this is supposed to look? Nothing has changed for me on the wayfarer map, so I am wondering if an add-on has broken this or if it just hasn’t come live yet.

This is how it looks on mobile.

Thanks. It’s the extensions/add-ons not showing the user/age information :frowning:

@Tntnnbltn (I think I have this right?)

Wayspots approved prior to ~August 2019 do not have creation date data. The photos do, but not the Wayspots themselves. This is consistent with data that used to be on the lightship.dev geospatial browser. Disappointing.

There’s a difference between ‘hiding’ and ‘not programmed yet’. ‘Hiding’ makes it sound like an intentional action.

Apologies, I will rephrase :slight_smile:

Interesting update - just one question. Is it possible to also add trainer names on photos that were submitted via ingress before the split happened? Specifically, in cases of people who played both games under the same niantic account. Pretty sure a lot of people submitted photos from both games back when that was still possible.

Trainer names of people who had a connected Pokémon GO account and submitted via Ingress since circa Oct 2022 (not before) show. Before that they don’t.
