Upgrades are slower than non-upgraded

Why are upgraded submissions getting reviewed slower than non-upgraded? This takes the whole purpose of upgrades away and it happened multiple times to me. Non upgraded submissions are reviewed in 1-3 days, and upgraded submissions are reviewed after 3-7 days..

This is a phenomenon people have been reporting for years. Some insist that putting an upgrade on a nomination too soon seems to make it take longer to leave grace period. I tend to wait until something is in voting long enough for me to become impatient before I use an upgrade. In the current state of Wayfarer review, I rarely need one. But I tend to get a decision very quickly, usually within hours, if I do apply an upgrade.

In any case, you should wait until the nomination is past the “automated process” check before you apply an upgrade. That seems to happen around 20-24 hours after submission. If the automated process rejects it, you have wasted the upgrade.

I definitely feel like my upgraded stuff resolves last out of a batch of nominations. It just sits in queue for days more than non-upgraded (I usually wait a few days before upgrading too). Its extra cruel because I’m upgrading things I’m most excited about, and then have a longer wait :upside_down_face:

To be honest, the upgrade was really useless.

I would say for me upgrades used to be priceless. With resolve times at its worst somewhere over 2 and half years, having a precious upgrade was essential. Pretty much used as soon as they were earned.
Fast forward to today and they just pile up as once it goes into voting it is taking about a day.
For submissions such a better experience but the value of an upgrade is far from what it was.

Oh definitely- it used to be necessary to upgrade pretty much every submission. Nowadays it feels like they are useless, or even detrimental!

Being a low numbers nominator with Upgrades to spare I am able to use one for all nominations.

Can’t state whether this is slowing things down or not but getting answers within a few days and I am not in a rush
