Valid pokestop removed

We have a pokestop in its own S2 cell, placed in the correct spot, available for everyone, does not obstruct emergency services. It is a very unique landmark in my town. When we use the “upload” feature we can identify the pokestop as a common wayspot now. (Nothing changed). Can we appeal this decision or will it return. It is a very old pokestop and historical pokestop in my community, so it is active every day. Thanks for the help

Good day and welcome to the forum!

There can be some reasons why even if the inclusion rules set by each app is met, the wayspot still isn’t utilized. Property owner requests being one of those. I recommend giving the coordinates and name of the wayspot in question in case the staff can disclose the likely reason for it.

Hey,

Please provide the details and we’ll look into it. Thanks,

The wayspot in mind is Colorfull Pole located at Vanløse Torv

I could not find a place to see official coordinates of the wayspot, however it should be at these: (55.6876301, 12.4908070)

That is indeed a colourful pole, showing in streetview at those coordinates (and in Ingress). It’s in the (approx) middle of a public plaza. However, the physical location of the pole is in the same cell as Vanlose Station Marker; the Colourful Pole wayspot was mislocated just a little to drop it into a neighbouring cell.

If you go into Pokemon Go submissions and check the map (you have to be on the plaza - this cannot be done remotely), does Colourful Pole still show up as as a location, but now on the actual pole instead of to the east of it? This would confirm that the wayspot has been correctly relocated, maklng it now unavailable to Pokemon Go.

The Wayspot has been moved to its correct location and the correct location does not meet the requirements to be live in Pokémon GO.

Last i cheked it did not change location. However i cannot verify this at this moment. Later i shall chek again

That’s hilarious. Now you guys care about accuracy with locations.

Hi @YAHW3H

You sound very frustrated and it can be disappointing to have something accepted as a wayspot but not appear in your preferred game(s).

But it’s part of the rules that wayspots need to match their real world location. Some things that are large can have some more leeway in placement as long as it still located on part of the item.

Is there a particular example that you are thinking about in your community?

Everything in my community is inaccurate. I report people don’t care. Feel like Niantic workers themselves live here and can have little private pokestops and slap a private property sign and not allow you to catch Pokémon. Or how about the numerous pokestops that’s inaccurately placed and I report and they say no it is accurate and I appeal and they say no it’s accurate when it is not. Or the pokestops that say they are there but aren’t and you report but they won’t get taken down. But everything you submit is for these very reasons around you influencing you into thinking these kinds of stops are acceptable by wayfarer. Yall are against me and it’s evident. Bunch of haters of God. Yall can be inaccurate when it’s convenient for you but when we place things a tad bit aways it’s rejected. The inconsistencies. ( I’ll give you the satisfaction of censoring me again but in the kingdom you cannot censor me)

I understand you. I have also had troubles with getting pokestops accepted, however it helps a lot on the moral if you are multiple people discussing where how you nominate a certain pokestop. In my group we are 3 people who create pokestops (mostly 2) however, we all communicate and helps each other out with nominations.

I would ask if someone would help you in your community. It helps a lot even if they are bad at it. If you don’t have a consistent group I would try and connect with two or three people and ask them if they want to help you

I understand my rejections and aren’t mad about it. Fair is fair. What is not fair is rejecting my illegitimate stops but accepting a stop on private property that I get kicked off of because a stop says it community when it’s not. Then I try to add photos showing its private property but those get rejected as well. Now it makes sense you all are working together against me lol probably on the review pages as well denying me so their illegitimate stops can stay. But mine.. they must go.

Hi @YAHW3H
I can assure you that none here on the forum or at Niantic/Scopely is against you.
The most who’re commenting here are long standing wayfarer and always helpful.
The private property could be a simple misunderstanding. Only forbidden is SFPRP-> single family private residential property. A space were one family/person lives. Pois at gated communities are allowed. You can read more about it at the tooltip for appropriate while reviewing.

When Niantic refers to private property, they mean SFPRP - single family private residential property.

Wayspots do not have to be accessible to everyone, just to those who are allowed to be there.
The tool tip in the review flow also indicates this:

Hot take, I think this image, or the content of Restricted/Ticketed/Business should be in a different section that need to be clarified about private property in rejection criteria section, so people know those area are allowed.

Private property is misundersood by many people and i have a few pokestops that could be accepted, however they wont because they get declined because of private proberty. (This area is quite big and is “owned” by a collection of houses (They also have their own garden). However, everyone can come there and play ball or enjoy the place. There is not even a open fence to block people. So it is not always accurate
