Looks like the disabling in Ingress is going forward as the latest update released on April 10th notes that they are getting rid of Campfire/Niantic ID and getting ready to disable nominations before the move to Spatial. This is version 2.164.1, so Facebook login is still available. Here’s the info from Google Play with this update:

Hello and welcome,

As of right now, no changes to the review process have been announced, so it may still be possible that something that isn’t eligible gets past ML and into community review, and then the community approves it. It’s also up to the submitter to prove that their nomination exists or should be accepted, so with a large field there might not be a place marker noting it to be a field used for different events or sports (such as a sign or goal, for instance). Just a photo of a large field of grass with nothing else doesn’t prove it’s a great place to be social/exercise at/explore.

Keep in mind that you still can request removal of Wayspots that do not meet criteria, like ones on PRP. If you have any removal requests that are rejected that you believe are valid, you can appeal the decision in the Wayspot Appeals topic.

The bulk of the question might be better asked in Review Support, since it mostly deals with reviewing nominations. Some of the questions about nominations may be better handled in Nomination Support, as this discussion is about the changes happening with Wayfarer and Ingress splitting.

They really don’t understand me, it was enough to send a request and it appeared in the games, this of separating the nominations for each game obviously in Pokemon does not affect because it has a large number of players, but I mean all those pois that would be wasted just because they were sent by and for Pokemon. I play in a rural area and there are very few ingress players, the portals have increased thanks to the nominations of Pokemon players. When separating the maps it will be difficult to be on par with the Pokemon poi, but I’m already a bit tired to continue with this, thank you very much for following the thread and let’s hope it happens

The Ingress map is pretty well populated now at least.

@slytrux is trying to point out the difficulties that there can be if you are in a rural area with very few agents nearby.

There has until now been a great symbiotic relationship between Ingress Agents and PokƩmon Go Players as they came together to be fellow wayfinders.
Features and tools that were developed originally for Ingress agents benefitted the quality of life for PokƩmon Go players and the much larger numbers of PokƩmon Go players increased the number of wayspots and therefore portals for Ingress Agents.
It is sad that this relationship that has worked well ( with the odd point of friction like all relationships :joy:) is being forced apart.
Whilst other elements of this business transaction are moving in entirety wayfarer is not.
Going forwards the games separate. And wayfinders separate.
So for Ingress players like @slytrux they will have little support locally for the development and upkeep of the map of their local area in Ingress.

Unfortunately the reality is that is just how it will be, it has been decided as a business decision and we as wayfinders have to deal with the frustration (collateral damage) it causes and live and adapt to the change.
I hope as wayfinders we can help and support each other through the split.

I was sold when I read the bold bit… but my bubble was burst when I read the last part. :man_facepalming:

Ingress will have independent Portal nomination and judge system within few days, but does that mean all the unused upgrades on Wayfarer will be gone after the separation?

I don’t know the answer to your question but wanted to highlight this.

I doubt the new Ingress system will launch within a few days. It’s more likely to be a few months

Hi @DVSYS
I’ve moved your topic to the main thread since we collect all splitt related questions here.

Could be even longer (sorry, sorry, more shreds)

Since niantic ald use wayfarer, it shouldn be that long to duplicate similar system.i doubt niantic will reinvent wheel

Well frankly between ingress and pokemon go, ingress removal war is more intense. Especially if said wayspot is used as anchor for link star.

Long ago i report removal for portal because its repeatedly used as anchor for link. Well it was fake submission anyway. Unlike pogo where i can just find other gym or pokestop, such link is a threat

I wonder if ingress might go back to noantic reviewing them, rather than setting up a voting system. Thanks to pogo, nost things will already be in the system. So now, in theory, there wont be as much to submit. Plus the ingress playerbase is no where near as big as when even i started playing 5 years ago, so there just wont be as many people submitting ro reviewing

Also, did we ever find out if nominations being accepted now (from ingress or pogo) will still appear in ingress at least for the next few months? Cause i can guarantee there will still be stuff waiting on voting in a years time lol

I don’t think anything has been said yet. I think one thing we may want to pay attention to is the upcoming global challenge and what gets approved from that, and if those get synced into Ingress.

I has some title/description edits for Wayspots only in Ingress, so I’ll keep an eye on those if they get approved, and if they get synced with Ingress.
