Well, post 15 April 2025 10:30AM PST that no longer will be 100% accurate. Because any nominations made in Pokemon GO will not be feeding Ingress Prime, they will only be feeding Pokemon Go. I say that because MHN and Pikmin Bloom havenāt had a sync in months. (Maybe that changes)
So, nominations now will be truly be āPokestopsā for Pokemon Go.
I wanted to put this out there as an additional question for @NianticTintino to talk to Scopley in hopes of getting an answer.
We donāt know if the current inclusion rules are going to remain the same or change.
We donāt know if S2 cells are going to be publicly acknowledged.
We donāt know if the 20 meter rule is going to come over with the change in ownership. (should it?)
There are a lot of ASSUMPTIONS that we can make post 15 April but I donāt know if anyone besides Scopley staff that can answer this question any longer and be giving 100% honest and accurate information.
When you see the question, and itās going to come up. How are you planning to help our newest or least knowledgeable Wayfinders and Explorers?
I donāt know this, that is why Iām asking the question. We donāt know what is going to happen after 15 April 10:30AM. I firmly believe we need to ask the tough questions of the game maker. How can we be effective as Explorers and Wayfinders with āDude, trust me.ā
As long term contributors, I donāt think itās out of line to expect a little accountability. If you felt this was a shot at you, it certainly was not.
I personally appreciate you attempting to help the newer people that come to the forum.
You put in way more work than 90% of us, and you should be commended.
i didnāt discover anything, but the āblah, blah, blahā after quoting me got to me. i can only explain things that were explained to me.
i still think we will be submitting to a database which pokestops and gyms will be pulled from by the same algorithm, or there would be chaos. and i doubt scopely would want to upset the cash cow they just bought.
if this is intended to be a message to scopely, then i have derailed it. but i donāt see any evidence of their presence on the forum.
@cyndiepooh That is what I am hoping for. Their presence! Weāve all put in a lot of time, energy, and money. And I think we deserve to be heard and responded to.
Also, sorry about the BLAH, that wasnāt meant to be a shot at you.
Hi @BlameJamal
Iāve moved your topic to the main post since we collect all questions here. Iām afraid that your message probablly wonāt be seen in the flood of āgeneral discussionā threads.
I donāt think you understand the situation. Scopely bought PGO, Pikmin Bloom, Monster Hunter Now, Campfire, and Wayfarer. They either did not want Ingress and Peridot or those games were not up for sale (we will probably never know the answer to that).
Ingress had a map, submission and review process before PGO even existed. If they want to, they can reinstitute a system for maintaining the map that runs Ingress.
You may be looking at this differently. All Niantic is going to be thinking about is ingress (and Peridot). Ingress was the first game Niantic came up with aside from Field Trip. That predates me, so I donāt have a lot of details.
But as @seaprincesshnb said, Scopley bought the games division and their main priority is those games. Niantic will be 100% focused on the Geospatial map and Ingress. We donāt know how itās all going to work.
I play Ingress as well, so I am a little nervous as to how high up on the light Ingress will be with Niantic Spatial.
Of course I thought about the benefit of all the games, (no matter if I sent a request from Pokemon or ingress, since I knew it would appear in the 2 games or at least 1. Anyway, my point is the hassle of doing double work and that the points on the Pokemon map will continue to grow and in ingress it will be very slow, really slow
