Couple of questions when thinking about two separate maps?

  1. Inclusion rules for the New Wayfarer map?
  2. Acceptance Criteria? Same? New?
  3. What about eMiLy? Is eMily coming to Scopley?
  4. Will Scopley say the words “S2 Cells”?

Hi @BlameJamal,

  1. Inclusion rules for the New Wayfarer map? - that will still remain game specific so we’ll have to consult the Ingres team if they plan to change this.
  2. Acceptance Criteria? Same? New? - unknown at this time for both sides
  3. What about eMiLy? Is eMily coming to Scopley? - I think you’re the first to ask about this :zany_face: I’ll have to consult the team on this one. No I did not forget about out beloved eMiLy :sweat_smile:
  4. Will Scopley say the words “S2 Cells”? - You’ll have to ask them once the transition happens :wink:

This means that the Wayfarer used by Pokémon GO will not be reflected in Intel Maps or Niantic Spectral over the next few months, so the location of existing and submitted Wayspots will not be accurately known. We will also lose track of their relationship to intersecting line.

Are there any plans to clear the current queue/in voting before the split?

It would be nice to not have to duplicate contributions that haven’t reached a decision, especially those that have been in the system for months.

When I travel I usually submit nominations if I found something elegible. I can’t return if need to resubmit but I will try to nominate according new rules (If they change for both games) and I only can cross my fingers for get all approved :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

What will happen to submissions from ingress in queue or in voting at the time of the split? Will the submissions be ported across to the new ingress nomination system?

I have a lot of editions in voting and in queue because the editing challenge. I hope they can be resolved before the separation :scream:

Who will be the members of the Wayfarer team to stay on the Niantic (Wayfarer) team and who will move to the Niantic Spatial team? I’m very worried because I see you managing the Scaniverse community forum. Who will welcome Explorers at the Wayfarer booth at Pokémon GO Fest 2025? :pleading_face:

@NianticTintino Hi! So will the POIs that were originally imported from Ingress to PoGo remain? Or will those existing POIs eventually disappear and need to be resubmitted? Just trying to grasp my head around it.

Will the nomination distance in Pokemon Go remain at 10 KM? Or will it move to the Ingress distance of 25 KM?

So is it right that essentially Scopley are taking one copy of the LightShip Database and Niantic Spatial will take a second copy?
Ingress and whatever applications get developed by Niantic Spatial will feed their copy via a new content management system (soonTM)
Scopley will continue with the current wayfarer system and PoGo nominations and whatever games they roll wayfarer out to?

So the main change is for Ingress where we get a new system but lose all the PoGo subs coming into Niantic Spatial’s database (post split), loss of upgrades as they are locked in wayfarer, so only accessible to be applied to PoGo subs.

PS. I’d love to see seer badge return (forever bronze)
