oh yeah, also is it known what would the ingress version of wayfarer be named?
OPR v2
I guess we will find out, sounds like the details havenāt been worked out.
@NianticTintino
I am not a legal expert,
The agreement players had prior to the Scopely buy out was with Niantic, as licensee of players wayspot data.
The Wayfarer functionality being the property of Niantic, the database itself really is the property of the players.
We as players did not sign any contract with Scopely to use our data for the Wayfarer database.
If no financial compensation can be found, then it is the recommendation that once the new Ingress Portal system is in place(OPR V2?), Scopely IS to delete the wayspot database, and to remove all wayspots from all games they own, and to start from zero with nominations
The 3rd option is, for Ingress to use free of charge with full access to the Wayfarer database.
Welcome to the forum @fierceflash926
Operation Portal Recon came before Wayfarer when reviewing of the backlog restarted but player based.
I think the agreement was that we provide all data with no rights or ownership to NIA, NIA were free to use, license or sell the data however they saw fit. So that boat has sailed.
Good question. Specifically (for those who donāt know):
- The Courts of the World import only shows on PokemonGo.
- Ingress agents donāt see them, so could reasonably nominate that basketball court that has no portal.
- Reviewers on the Wayfarer system see the imported wayspot, and mark the nomination as a duplicate.
- So the Ingress agent gets an email saying their wayspot is a duplicate, even if there is no portal around, maybe within a kilometer.
So questions about this are:
- Will third party imports go on to Scopely or Spatial or both or neither?
- Will the Spatial review system still see them (even tho theyāre not seen in Ingress), and mark nominations as duplicates?
I can only imagine how ingress gonna review portal withour wayfarer. Niantic made wayfarer to help review submission from ingress and pogo. Without it, time required to for submission might back to old time before OPR.
Second ly without iitc, it will be harder for pogo players to check whether certain area need more submission to get new gym or no.
Also i noticed ingress have longer distance for location edit, is it possible if pogo can have the same range for this(or other feature)

Great question @kelly1123581321,
I certainly hope this is the case so that most if not all Explorers get a resolution. As we draw nearer to the transition date Iāll keep you all posted and will have a better response.
Unfortunately we donāt know at this time but similar to @kelly1123581321ās question Iāll be sure to get you answers on this as soon as theyāre available.
Hello @kowloonsgt,
Thank you for asking. At this time itās still not clear exactly where all members will be heading. Itāll become clearer in the coming weeks. Itās our intention to still have a presence at each GO Fest this summer and meet our amazing Explorer community. More to come soon and hope to see you in Osaka!
From my understanding they will persist.
Adding it to the list!
Welcome to Suita! Iāll be waiting for you!
āTintinofarerā getās my vote but Iām pretty sure that wont be it still unknown at this time.
Hi @Grogyan,
Iām no lawyer myself. I think those questions might be best resolved if you open a support ticket and I can work with the team to do a deeper dive.
so uh do I manage to appeal all my rejections in time before the split so it sync to all games?
Oh yes, additions to the map by Niantic. Great question! Let me add this to the list and get you a better answer than I currently have
Will it be @NianticTintino or ScopelyTintino in the future?
Less legal question, will both companies have rights to use the old common wayspots in their future projects? Will Scopely be able to create other Scopely games? Will Niantic Spatial be able to make other Niantic games?
