Wayfarer app

Yep, stick it where it is and wing it.

There are a couple of people around who will use all the stuff, but I never wanted to break any rules. Sometimes theyll tell me where a cell boundary is so I can position something on the right place on a larger item but yeah, I dont check anything for myself.

I still use the app, but for 3 things

  1. When i do enough scans, try to activate the thing to get overclock in ingress (blame ingress for locking a feature unless you sue wayfarer app)

  2. To make sure anything i got accepted is where its meant to be

  3. To check and compare against iitc, incase a random pokestop is inside the 20m of a portal, ive had a gym randomly pop up due to this and mess up my iitc lol

Ambo on deck …Alert
It is a confusing situation. No argument from me on that one.
My interpretation is that the Wayfarer Team don’t want the app to be used to submit nominations or edits, because… the Wayfarer Team said so. The systems were not developed to the point that everything is supported.
Quite rightly people complain when things don’t work correctly on the wayfarer site, the same can happen with the app. Why have double the problems and double the number of unhappy wayfarers.
Ambos do say, nicely and not shouting, you shouldn’t use the app. And keep it simply at that.
The key problems occur with submissions and as far as I can tell these almost always if approved end up in a limbo state causing chaos. They dont seem to be able to be used, but they show in the duplicate check and so good submissions get nowhere. I have 3 from November 22 that are in that state.
It is a more consistent message to repeat, you are not supposed to use the app.

Is it really helpful in being able to see the database? yes it is.
If there is no replacement it will in my opinion make it hard to answer questions and as I submit in Ingress impossible to see what is in the database so I risk clogging the system and getting annoying duplicates.
The most frequent use I put it to is to help answer where is my pokestop? and I like the interface for scouting new areas to look for places that might need help.

I don’t think anyone is still submitting after those first few weeks. Maybe a few are? That’s on Niantic to fix that if they want to.

I can use the Wayfarer app and/or the Intel map and not cheat.
They just give me the option on choosing when and where I want to submit and looking at places like Poland and seeing how well it has been fixed.

I don’t think any Ambassadors have been rude. Maybe a few are?

I will nicely and consistently ignore any Ambassador who tells me what to do

Just kn those “in limbo” ones, no word on anything being done to fix them? Can they not make up a new bit of code to make them appear? Or do they just not care as its on the poi map?

I dont even think its possible to submit theough tbe app anymore, is it? I cant ses the option anymore. I can see the edit options, but i dont bother with those as the wayfarer chat is so much easier (oh, thatd another thing i can use the app for, finding invisible pois that are on the map but not in ingres or pogo)

Could be in close proximity to another wayspot. I think it’s 20m and it won’t show on the map. I could be wrong on the distance though. I don’t play ingress just seen a discussion about it on a thread here. Where it is now, I have no clue.
