Wayspot Report Rejection Appeal: Designer Playground

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Designer Playground
  • Location (lat/lon): 55.682959, 12.575594
  • City: Copenhagen
  • Country: Denmark
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any):

I reported this Wayspot for being a duplicate of “Golfbane Playground” located at 55.682750, 12.575630. I have attached a screenshot of the satellite map below, where I have highlighted Golfbane Playground - the Wayspot I am reporting (Designer Playground) is the one not in game near the top of the playground.

I believe that the two Wayspots represent the same physical location (the playground at Hauser Plads), and I have thus reported Designer Playground for being a duplicate, which I still believe it is, considering that the guidelines is that playgrounds should be nominated as a whole. Neither the titles/descriptions of the Wayspots, the description on the Municipality of Copenhagen website (Legepladsen på Hauser Plads | Legepladser i København), nor this folder for playgrounds in Copenhagen produced by the municipality (https://kk.sites.itera.dk/apps/kk_pub2/pdf/1600_oGXisi0F3K.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwiepfXC0N2SAxWjQ_EDHfHEKkE4ChAWegQIFhAB&usg=AOvVaw1O0r3lVBki8UD_UjrlKYF4) mentions that the playground is divided into separate sections for older/younger kids, or anything else that should support two Wayspots instead of one.

Best regards,
Jakob Helms

@NianticAtlas a close look at the satellite and streetview images show that this area is a continuous space with two wayspots representing the space.

It is unusual to allow two wayspots to represent the same POI.

There are gates at the top middle and lower right of this image, with the path (grey) in the middle being part of the space - this does not separate it into two separate playgrounds

Yeah, I am also still confused. I completely agree that it is one continuous space and that the path is a part of the playground. In Denmark we’d definitely view the entire fenced-in enclosure as one whole playground.

I hope someone from Niantic can clarify; even if it is because this is regarded as different playgrounds, surely the two Waypoints represent the same one?

The municipality website (Legepladsen på Hauser Plads | Legepladser i København) does mention that “Legepladsen byder på cirkelformet sandkasse, gynger, jorden-er-giftig-bane og store sølvfarvede sfærer til at klatre og kure på.” (roughly translated to “the playground contains both a circleshaped sandpit, swings, a the-floor-is-made-of-lava-track and big silvercolored spheres to climb and slide on”. But surely these are all elements of the same playground? Or is it one playground on the right (with the spheres and swings), one on the left (with the floor-is-made-of-lava-track), and then one in the bottom left corner (with the circleshaped sandbox), where each playground is part of the same fenced enclosure?

Maybe it’s just a language thing? Because I would definitely understand “playground” as meaning “One bounded area with different elements for play”, where I would see the fence as that boundary. Hopefully someone can clear up why these two are not duplicates :-).

Occasionally Niantic take decisions which don’t make sense to the people on this forum. They have decided in this case that the playground fence encloses two playgrounds, which seems to be an unusual decision. Sometimes you just have to accept and move on

Yeah for sure. I have nothing against the decision, but with how unusual seems (and how non-intuitive it is for me) I would just hope to understand it better :-).

Hey @JakobHelms ,

There appears to be some miscommunication here. The Wayspot in question is retired. I have struck off the earlier communication.

We regret the confusion.

Best,

Cheers Aaron, thank you for clearing it up.

All the best, good weekend,

The wayfarer map is showing “Olfert Fischer Memorial” as an active pokestop, “Golfbane Playground” as an active poketop and “Designer Playground” as a wayspot unused in Pokemon Go.

It might well be that “Designer Playground” has been removed, but the wayfarer map does not get updated very often.

check the submit map - that one is real time and it is gone there. so confusing!

“it” being “Designer Playground”

Isn’t “Welcome to the Hauser Plads Playground”

55.682642,12.575405 also a duplicate?

Yes.
