What dictates a stop coming to the game after approval

Hello, I nominated ten stops 6 got approved but only two made it in game. I am very disappointed as I am rural so every stop added means so much more. I am wondering what dictates a stop showing up in game after approval. (And yes it’s been well over 48 hours). They were also all added as POI’S and show up on the wayfarer map just not in game.

Welcome to the forum!

Check out this explanation and see if it helps:

If you leave a title and the gps coordinates, we can give you a visual.

43.860032, -84.328582 Gold and Blue star memorial for example.

I just don’t get why all these poi’s don’t end up stops

There’s just so many not in game

Also what is a cell???

Here is the visual. The S2 cells divide the world into these little boxes. There can only be one Pokestop or gym in each one. This one is in the same cell - specifically a level 17 S2 cell - as the Pokestop “Barb Johnston memorial bench”

please have a look at the article linked in that topic i posted. i will post it again separately

Is there any way to change the cell to allow more stops and gyms

This is the only safe place to play for like 15 miles every direction is there any way to “upgrade or change a cell” to allow for spots

As I said in the topic I linked you, Niantic does not officially acknowledge that S2 cells are used to determine stops and gyms. So they will not not allow exceptions to a rule they don’t acknowledge.

Trying to misplace a Wayspot so that it will be in an empty cell is abuse. So don’t do that either. I always try to say that when I explain about cells.

You might find some suggestions you hadn’t thought about submitting in this topic: Tips for Rural Nominators

Thank you for the tips for rural nominators I have a boat launch across the street of the park that list helps a lot.

I zoomed out a little to show the rest of the land at that park. If they add anything to the west side of it, those cells are empty. It looks like maybe a path dead ends where they maybe building something? Let us know how it goes!

That’s actually our township fire station back there, the. There’s a couple signs to the back of the park for dog owners and a couple pet stations around so I’ll give it a shot. There’s also a boat launch across the street.

Boat launch sounds great! Don’t want to steer you wrong on the other stuff. If you just mean pet supply stuff for picking up after your dogs, those don’t really meet criteria of a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social. If you mean a fenced area for walking pets, that could be good!

What do you think about the firs station? It’s a government building no?

Fire stations typically will fall under “Obstructs emergency services” rejection. There sometimes may be plaques or statues at a Fire station that could be eligible if they do not block driveways. But it would be difficult to get even that accepted.

Fire stations were used a long time ago to create game locations before Pokemon Go was even a thing, so you may see some in game that are very old.

Is it really one one stop or gym per cell? That is so dumb how come in bigger cities there is like 6 stops and gyms all on top of each other.

Some of those stops could be sponsored and the same with gyms. They would be paid for by companies to advertise their business. Over here they are rare enough. (I think I have seen one in all my time playing here) Some large companies you may have received a postcard from are the likes of MC Donald’s or Starbucks.

It seems to be a big thing in Japan as I get loads from there.

There can be partnerships also like the baseball ones in Japan at the moment and the MLB in the US.

I have seen screenshots of what you are talking about and they are crazy. Seen one with approx 8-10 gyms in a single park and loads of stops.

Another place you may see this happen is in in-person events where there are event stops placed especially for the event or in the new campsites that ambassadors can place stops/gyms (this is pretty new so I don’t know the exact details of how many or what can be placed) but I have got some postcards from them already.

Can an ambassador do a rural player a favor and turn a couple of those approved POIS into some stops lol.

If you apply for pogo community leader you can ask for gym/pokestop(subject for appeoval) but its outside wayfarer scope
