What is the reconciliation with two oversights I discovered with my own approved submission?

Hello,

Sorry, a bit frustration with these forum windows always shutting down before I can successfully submit and I have to re-explain all this! So here is for trying again.

On 2025-09-26, while I was in my hometown prior to Vancouver City Safari was, I went to see my dad and I was able to finally get this submission since I usually come home in the summer and the parking lot is always busy here for me. So it was on a “to do list”.

Anyways, I finally got in and received an approval for my submission: “China Kitchen”.

It has a lot of memories for me from when I was a kid where we would dine with friends and family and it’s been around since 1990! I feel old.

The coordinates of my submission exists at: 49.21633744213452, -122.58948038743854

In early November, I saw a screenshot from my hometown discord where a trainer asked other members if they wanted a remote max battle sent to them. They provided a screenshot from the game for “China Kitchen Restaurant” powerspot.

For the moment I was bummed it was not a stop, but happy there was a power spot of this, as this has value to the game. However, then I remembered… I submitted this as “China Kitchen” without the Restaurant at the end. So now I was confused. I confirmed from a friend thereafter that there was definitely no stop in the game, so I was going to investigate on my next visit home.

Fortunately, I had an extra trip home on 2025-11-29, so I took the opportunity to spark my curiosity during the week long trip to investigate the matter returning by returning to the location and checking via “uploads > new pokestop”

Firstly, it appears I might have had one oversight as I see two “!” as per below. One is this concept of “import” that is for “China Kitchen Restaurant”. I think I might have overlooked this in the circumstances during submission, maybe because it’s on the pizza place next door. However, I am not sure why this didn’t get marked as duplicate, but based on the forums I read, this may not be visible to the community.

Secondly, however, to my anxiety in that moment, I noticed that my pin was accidentally placed in the parking lot and not on the building as I intended for it.

I recall the game crashed during the first submission I took on 2025-09-26 requiring me to reload the game and resubmit. During the resubmission, I recall a car pulled up to the left of me and I start feeling rushed to not lose my opportunity with getting this in, particularly the photo of the location (as this lot was always busy in previous summer visits). Sadly, I appear to have overlooked that the pin was at the location of taking the photo and I did not move it on the building as I did in the original submission that crashed.

I am disappointed though that voters who approved my submission did not identify or correct the pin during voting :frowning:.

Through the upload screen, I have simulated below using the “set location” where the pin should be been intended to be:

With my explanations of walking through my own submission, I am hopeful I am not in trouble :frowning: . I am thankful I was able to walkthrough (and thankful to have gone to my hometown as it is 4,400 km from where I live).

However, we have two issues to reconcile with this submission.

Thank you in advance.

Articles I referenced for assisting me with understanding of the import and duplicates related to this discussion.

You are correct. Imported Power Spots are not wayspots and will not show to reviewers as duplicate. The one without the picture is an imported Power Spot, and the other one is your nomination, which is a wayspot in the database.

Looking at where you think the pin should be, it seems to be around 49.216203,-122.589555 from what I can tell. If you login to your wayfarer account on the wayfarer website and go to the help page, you’ll see an orange speech bubble icon in the corner. Tapping on it will open a support chat, and one of the things you can do in this support chat is request a location edit. You will need to provide the name of the wayspot, the current location, the correct location (which you can probably use the coordinates I posted in this reply), and you’ll be able to provide additional evidence and/or an explanation of why you’re requesting the move.

In this case, just explain that the wayspot is not currently on the object it represents due to an error during submission, and the suggested location is at the entrance, which is the natural point of discovery for the restaurant. Usually support will get back to you within 48 hours and will make the edit if it is justified.

Thank you. I am trying to find in the help page on the Wayfarer, but it’s telling me the following:

Am I missing a link somewhere? I apologize I am not tech savvy.

No need to open specific help pages, it should appear on the bottom-right corner.

@hankwolfman, I think I found it.

I received this response from support. I am satisfied that it is considered a wayspot, so am I assuming this is an automated message? I am going to make the assumption that they ruled out “duplicate”, unless this was not looked at by a physical person. I kindly would like peace of mind that someone has addressed and corrected my accidental pin placement that I described above and corrected.

Let your mind be eased :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

While an initial interaction with Help chat is automated, it does assign each one to an employee to look over. So the response you got is from a person.

@WillZedd Editing to add - I am not sure if they followed that there are now 2 locations associated with the same poi. In general I always add all my details in the chat boxes. I’ll leave it to others to explain if they have added a link to the forum as their explanation.

As far as I can tell “China Kitchen” is currently at 49.216198, -122.589563, which sounds like a good place to pin it. If that’s not where it was initially, it means you can indeed have peace of mind. Whatever changes need to happen in Pokémon GO will sync in over the next couple of days.
