Oh this coffee shop looks like it could be a good Wayspot
I am a Luge athlete, summer sports are foreign to me!
I truly appreciate everyone’s help! Many of these suggestions were on my radar. I was just trying to work one at a time and not spam the system haha.
I recently walked quite a bit through Henry’s Woods as a workout. Definitely plan to go through there slowly and submit stops!
I love to submit a bunch of stuff all at once! Then when they go live, it’s like the Pokestop Fairy came

Can you use this aspect of everyone knowing each other to your advantage?
Community projects can make good wayspots, so why not get involved with the community to improve the village. Is there a local council or group? ( not USA based so not sure of correct phrase😎)
Is there public land? A park or other spaces?
Could a little free library be installed on the public land. Is there a public area that could be a biodiversity project - wild flowers, an insect hotel with a sign to explain the importance of different aspects. Can be a great educational resource for kids. An area that could be a community orchard - signs about the different trees and a chance for free fruit. A project to do a mural about an aspect of the towns history. A community project to recycle some waste items into a creative art work to illustrate the importance of recycling - could be a project done as a teaching point in school and located at the recycling centre.
Being community active helps the whole community. If these then are recorded on Facebook or the like you have a link to show the efforts behind it. Official items like these are potentially eligible. It’s not a quick fix and depending on your situation some may be feasible as a council could provide limited funds for some of items - the signage needs to be proper official signs. But if some can be done everyone wins.
My parents live in a very rural area. When they first started living there, my mother would joke (“tongue in cheek”) about how going to the garbage & recycle drop-off was the weekly social highlight for the locals. Now, it’s not far off base for her ![]()
I understand your sentiment here, I truly do. Unironically, whenever I visit I do get an urge to give it a go, and the local grocery store & gas station is 100% the kind of example I keep for rural generic stores that can (and do) have significant community value.
However, I just don’t think the trash drop-off meets Wayfarer Criteria and aren’t places intended and set up for socializing, exercising, or exploring. I appreciate @elijustrying’s comments above about considering ways to improve the area. Ask the site for a gazebo or formal seating area to utilize during visits, a coffee stand, or community notice board.
Wouldn’t this be a better way to describe criteria. ![]()
So many great ideas! Much appreciated
Love it!! My creativity has definitely been sleeping lately. These suggestions will really help me
Kirsten2cold, I also have had the same i some of my nominations and the ones that told me that the pictures were blurry,I went back and fixed them then put them for a nomination then they tell me they don’t meet the criteria, but recently I have had two that were accepted.
Thanks for the input! I am always optimistic.
Yep no problem been trying to get some waystops accepted since I lvled up to 37 and so far no luck, just finally got two accepted
I am just commenting on your gas station and store comment, I have both here where I live and they have not been accepted as waystops and right I am getting penalized for apparently for abuse for the store i wanted as a waystop, but I have not mentioned any names or anything of the sort,I have at least 25 more days until I am allowed back into pokemon go
I don’t have any solid recommendations on gas stations or stores. I would like to point out my above comment
Emphasis on intended. No matter how you look at it, the average (even hyper rural) gas station or convenience store isn’t intended to be a place for socializing, exercising, or exploring. That said, on a personal level I understand the importance these locations play for communities and even the gas station can become a local social hub.
What exists at them? General indoor seating? A cafeteria or coffee stand? Outdoor picnic areas? I would be critical of accepting a store as a social hub without those. Something that these locations often have are community notice boards - note the emphasis on “community” there - I’m talking about “peer to peer” networking where community members can post information, not just employee notices. Other ways you could add Wayspots is to discuss adding local art - murals, art sculptures, etc. You could also ask about adding a Little Free Library location ![]()
Hope you can come up with some ideas. They might take a bit of effort, but these can improve the community and add a lot of value.
I’m sorry about your ban. I hope things improve for you in the game, soon!
I have a question when a nomination is not accepted and they tell me it does not go for the criteria of wayfarer what does that mean cause that is all that it tells me,nothing on how to fix it so it can be accepted?
If you’re unsure why something was rejected and aren’t happy with the results shown in the Wayfarer pages, it might be best to keep posting examples where for better individual and focused answers.
