Oh here is a good link for the parks for future nominations:
I wish it had a map but this should help.

The OP (me ), did not know ANY of this! Honestly, y’all are speaking a foreign language… CourtiftheWorld, Ingress, Cells…! lol!
I only play PokemonGo.
I was so excited to contribute, but this seems like a lot.
Thank you for all the information!
I had no idea that this served multiple games. I only play PokemonGo. I’m not sure if I’m up for all the cross-referencing…. I am curious though, with regard to the cells, how is it that many places have SEVERAL PokeStops, Gyms and Powerspots all on top of each other?! I play PokemonGo at parks and shopping centers with things much closer than the bench and volleyball court some of you have mentioned for my specific nomination.
The track is part of the school.
McDermott Complex, and the playground and courts I listed are operated by the city. I was careful to nominate a spot I thought would be far enough from the school. I don’t know what the exact “rules” are, but where I play PoGo, Stops and Gyms never “reach” onto a public school.
Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, I fear anything on the far west side of the park would be too close to the school.
It’s a very snug area! All the courts I listed and the playground are city property, while the track to the north is the schools. I’m not sure about the soccer fields, but they are not very accessible.
Yes, each game uses the map in different ways, and have different density/inclusion rules. For example, Ingress uses a 20m inclusion rule.
You can have a stop in a cell and another close by that’s in another nearby cell. Basically, you can have stops just a few meters away, but in different L17 S2 cells.
Gyms work differently, as they are in L14 S2 cells, which are larger. Based on the number of occupied L17 cells in the L14 cell determines how many gyms there will be. Here’s how gyms break down depending on the occupied cells:
As for Power Spots, some have noticed that 2 will appear in a L14 cell at one time. Some have said that they may also be 22m away from the nearest stop/gym. The Power Spots that get used seem to get updated about every month currently, as there was an update noticed in April and May.
Another thing about Power Spots is that unused Wayspots in PoGo tend to get used a good deal, but there are also imported Power Spots as well. I personally have seen some of my unused Wayspots used as Power Spots from time to time, including one that I had approved at the end of April rotating out this month.
Yes, if the track is part of the school, that would make it inelgiible. Anything located on K-12 schools are ineligible as they are at inappropriate locations. I think the sign for the sports complex should be ok, but not entirely for sure.
The soccer fields to the west near Heritage Park on Google Maps seem to not be part of the school, as they are listed as Mcdermott Soccer Field. However, it’s a bit hard to tell, even after looking at the city map for parks and facilities. It may be something to ask the parks department about. The track field seems to serve as a soccer field for the school, as I can see goals there.
Proximity to a school is fine, it just can’t be part of the school property. The wayspots I suggested would be eligible.
I know this seems like a lot, but if you don’t get anything else out of this conversation, be sure to turn the toggle on in the Pokemon Go nomination map screen to avoid submitting duplicates of Wayspots that are not in that game.
Happy exploring!
