Why are all my nominations being declined?

I’ve nominated multiple stops in my area trying to build the scell in the neighborhood. But all my stops are being declined, I follow all the criteria and make sure they are safe area in between a school zone and residential area but still get declined. I’ve tried to appeal some but still got declined. If someone can help me figure out if I’m doing something wrong ?

Are you willing to post some of your nominations so that we can determine why they are being rejected?

These are two that I thought were solid

Two things:

As you mentioned “school zone” and “residential area”… the rule only prohibits stops on the property of such facilities, and for residential, it only prohibits in the case of single-unit properties. Locations that are just “close” may be eligible, such as items in the public right of way of streets (including sidewalks), apartment/condo/townhouse complexes, mobile home parks, parks, and churches that just happen to be close to prohibited things. (For instance, my church has 5 wayspots, even though there is a school right next door.)

Second, just being in an eligible location isn’t enough, the item itself needs to meet the eligibility guidelines.

Neither of these are a great reason to explore, exercise or socialize, in themselves. The first is on school property, and you use the school to justify your nomination. That’s a pure no-go from that stance.

The second is a realtor’s office. That’s sort of the definition of a generic business. People don’t go to these sorts of places to gather and hang out. They’re not a place to work out. They aren’t, in themselves, notable places to explore.

Right, the point I was making is where it says “boundaries”… something that is simply close to the boundaries, but outside of them, IS eligible.

I was just adding the official criteria to back up what you stated…

From the examples shown, you need to go back and review Wayfarer Criteria. There is a link here: Wayspot Criteria — Wayfarer Help Center

Be sure to check all the pages, Eligibility Criteria — Wayfarer Help Center, Acceptance Criteria — Wayfarer Help Center, Rejection Criteria — Wayfarer Help Center, Forum Criteria Discussions Library — Wayfarer Help Center

You cannot just submit based on what you see live in game. You must submit based on criteria. In some parts of the world there have been game locations added by Niantic just to make it possible for trainers to play, and those did not have to meet the same criteria as submitted Wayspots do. It makes it even more confusing if you have those.

If you are using the categories to decide what to submit, don’t. Those are just tags for data purposes and do not represent eligibility. You can even find a category for “Elementary school” for example, and those are specifically ineligible.

If you find something you want to submit that you believe is eligible, please post in Nomination Support for advice. Your nomination should not be focused on why you want a “Pokestop” there, but why the thing you are submitting is a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social.

If you want to leave a general location, some people on this forum are really good at looking around on maps to scout for potential suggestions. I am not one of the people who is good at that. Do remember this is a public forum and protect your privacy if you choose to leave a location.

In the case of businesses - especially those that are not restaurants - I’ve found it is usually better to find artwork and submit it as artwork, rather than as the business itself.

As I’m in California, one of my basic strategies is to look on satellite maps and find apartment complexes that have swimming pools or other athletic facilities (tennis court, basketball court, etc).
