Welcome to the forums
When reviewing, under the thumbs-up or thumbs-down for Permanent and Distinct, the help-text has this
Is the location a permanent, physical, tangible, and identifiable place or object that placemarks an area?
This submission fails on this, because the spot you have chosen is no different than any other spot - it isn’t distinct. It is very helpful for open spaces to have an anchor - something that marks the space. This doesn’t have to be a sign, although it can be hard to get reviewers to accept open spaces without signs.

Hello and welcome to the forums!
First, let me say your description is top-notch.
Ponds and other natural points of interest like this typically require a sign to anchor the nomination and are very difficult to get approved otherwise. I drove the google car around the area and couldn’t find a sign that would be eligible so I thought you might be out of luck on this one.
