I found that 10 days after I submitted my application for a way spot in a park, another person submitted for the same wayspot in the same place for the same item. They were accepted in 24hrs but I waited 14 days to be declined. Why?
It sounds like ML may have accepted their nomination, not the community. ML, Machine Learning, is the AI with Wayfarer, and it has been accepting more submissions as of late. Most ML submissions are accepted within 24 hours, and the email users received will note that “our team” made the decision, instead of “our community.”
What were the differences between the two if you don’t mind posting them.
Also curious - how does one know it was submitted in 24 hours if it’s another user?
They might know the other player. I’ve had the same thing happen to me. It just shows that getting something approved can be completely random depending on who’s reviewing it.
The player joined our group approx 2 weeks ago and when it was approved she posted it for everyone to see. I asked her long and she said 24hrs. Neither of us had been to or met at this place together. It was random.
I’m not sure of the differences. I’ll ask her.
I do know mine says “community” and hers says “team”
Yep, hers was approved by ML, and yours was most likely rejected as a dupe by the community once hers was approved by ML.
We really don’t know how one can get their submissions and edits approved by ML at this time, as it’s still learning. I’ve had a good deal of edits that seem like ML should approve them, but instead they have gone into community voting. Some are location edits that can easily seen from satellite/Street View and are moving to not only a more accurate location, but a safer one off the street. A candy and gift shop just had a description of “Candy,” so I submitted a more accurate and broader description, but that too went into community voting.
I will say that many Wayspots that don’t have descriptions and I add one, those get approved by the ML often. Same with title edits I submit correcting spelling and/or grammar.
