I know that the description is not helpful but really did not know what to write… Instead of getting rejected or accepted which happened in one day on previous wayspots I suggested it is still in voting for over a month.
(I am so sorry if the screenshots are not shown i really am new to this if you need any more information please do tell)
Hi @ssjgodchrisand and welcome to the community.
When a nomination goes into voting and lasts for a while, it could mean that the community cannot decide as to whether it should be accepted or not. However, if there is an issue at the back end that Niantic needs to look into, I’m sure they will have a look.
Thank you for submitting a Wayspot nomination! In order to ensure high quality Wayspots, submissions are manually reviewed by a community of Niantic players. The time of this process may vary depending on numerous factors such as the volume of submissions or the level of submission detail. We will send you a confirmation when we receive your submission, and will also let you know if your Wayspot nomination is deemed eligible or ineligible as soon as it has been reviewed.
This nomination is functioning as expected.
I suspected it was still functioning as expected…
Those nominations were reviewed by ML. You can read more about it here:
also “working as intended”
Thank you all so much for responding!
Hopefully it is accepted the community here needs it, though if it is not i will ask again here what to fix
I guess there are not a lot of players reviewing in your area, and those who do vote - they vote differently so it’s hard to make a decision.
@ssjgodchrisand I know I’ll get told off for this but oh well.
My first submission was for a particular sign on the 3rd July 2024 and over a month later it was still in voting and I waited and waited then all of a sudden it got rejected…now in the meantime I found other things to submit and these got approved quite quickly but still my original submission was stuck then I found out a couple of days later that someone else had nominated the same spot as me a month later and got it approved quite quickly and it was in game with a blink of an eye.
While I believe as @P1dg3ySlayer said there maybe something wrong with the backend system also in my eyes the system should honour the older submission first and be checked that was in the queue prior to the newer submission, trying to convince Niantic that this is happening isn’t an easy job.
But keep your eyes on the location you submitted in game and your wayfarer dashboard as you never know what will happen and your emails too
I don’t mind it being rejected
I just hope that when the time comes i will be able to update it and make it better to bypass the ML.
Though i will probably need help with that as well.
I would be absolutely astonished if they’re not aware as I’m pretty certain they do that on purpose.
Never ever hint that you are going to “bypass” Emily she’s a tough cookie and I’ve insulted her and felt her wrath to the point I won’t do it again and I’m not joking either.
She even emails @cyndiepooh as “Emelia” to scare her doesn’t she !?.
You can also only edit it while it allows you to via your wayfarer dashboard or if it goes live but then it puts the edits back into the queue for “the system” to have fun with whether this is ML/The Community/Niantic.
Ok now i am scared fr
My bad
Just make sure your nice to her when you submit any nominations or reviews with comments/descriptions.
everytime I get an email that says “our team” we all know she is at work and I think “oh boy she’s looking over my shoulder”
There is no way me being disrespectful under no circumstances (or at least I hope so)
But the one sure thing is that I will probably need help with descriptions and comments as you can see according to my attempt at making a wayspot shown in screenshots
That’s what the forums are here for, don’t be afraid to ask around as someone will gladly help out where they can,we all have to start somewhere.
What I tend to do is write my own description and stay close to the object while doing it as the GPS co-ordinates can lock on as you write it.
The only time I move away is when it fails to submit and then I have the option to “upload later” even though the signal in my area is strong it still fails quite often but having home WiFi is handy for bigger uploads that may struggle on mobile data.
I like to take my time making a good title and description, so I upload the wayspots immediately with only focusing on the pictures, location and tags with gibberish in the textboxes and put them on hold after they appear on my contributions list. That way I can take my time and maybe do some research before I release hold. Emily seems to like it too. On the other hand one of my first submissions is still in voting for over 3 months now. Seems to be a really tough nut for the community.
Any idea why this might be?
Nominations in Belgium take roughly 6 months to get approved or rejected if they are not upgraded.
Now that’s encouraging
Now that you mentioned it I always wanted to ask
What does upgrade next means
I mean I can understand that it puts the nominations next in line (i might be wrong idk) but does it cost anything? Like community points or some other form of currency?
No it doesn’t. You can also, toggle off “Automatically Apply Upgrades” and choose which nomination to Upgrade. It’s totally upto you and your convenience.
