With Pokemon Go going from L50 to L80

What will this mean for Wayfarer in terms of submission requirements, rewards (for challenges), etc?

Apology if this isn’t appropriate for this Forum, but am wondering if the requirement will increase, if higher levels will get some form of rewards for x number of approved wayspots (as of when the L80 is released).

Asking out of curiousity.

It seems like the redistribution of levels affects 40 and up, so I don’t expect it to affect the level to submit.

Yes, I don’t think it will be anything right now, since they lowered the minimum level to L35 recently. But, you never know…Maybe they’ll change some things up in the future, but also, maybe they won’t.

It’s a fair point that it will only affect Level 40 and above, but with it being easier than ever to get to Level 40, I am starting to wonder if it is worth asking the question……

If someone played at the weekend it could take as little as an hour or 2  You only need 6 million xp for level 35, and the battles we have now can award up to 100k within a few minutes of gameplay, which could be doubled with an inexpensive item.

So yeah, someone could access wayfarer the same day they started nowadays. Seems too quick especially with no knowledge test being needed either.

There is an easier solution, they could require everyone to at least reach 100 agreements, before being allowed to submit (and as a bonus, earn an upgrade for the 1st submission)

To be honest, my first submissions were not very good, even though I was well over level 40 at that time, I’ve learned more from reviewing than from submitting (and yes, I did have to pass the test at that time).

Not an unreasonable suggestion…. but am worried it would reduce the number of submitters by a significant amount.

That’s a very good idea, since that would show them how reviews work, which is very educational!

Would it reduce the number of good submitters though?

Probably. There will be some good submitters who have no interest in reviewing.

Doesn’t seem like a high bar.

I suppose it is a balance. Would this barrier cut down a significant amount of poor quality submissions while blocking the minimum high quality submissions?

If so then it would be a positive. Depends where the balance is.

100 agreements doesn’t take long, it may be a little frustrating that it takes a couple of days before you see that you have reached an agreement.

But it would also help in reducing the queue

Though even good submitters complain about the reviewers, and nothing would be approved without the reviewers

It’ll be easier to get past L40; believe me, I’ve been stuck for a looooooooong time because I can’t catch 200 in a day.

Right now, there’s nothing for certain that we’ll be gaining from the change in leveling up. PoGo is just making it easier for those to level up, and you do need to level up in order to max out the CP of your Pokémon, so that’s not a part of Wayfarer. If Wayfarer does want to add anything based on the new leveling, they’ll let us know, but I don’t see if happening anytime soon.

Maybe they can add a level increase for wayfarer access

I got past this one by using the “Plus +” when on a journey. Just switched it on whenever I stopped anywhere.

Remember getting a big chunk when I pulled in to a large rural car park (half way stop) for a cuppa. Got about 50 in that 1 spot

Yeah, don’t have the money for one of those…

I originally bought one of the original “Go Plus” from ebay. Lost it. Tried a couple of the cheaper “knock Offs” which where so bad I sent them back, bought the “Go Plus +” then found the original…

Once you have used one you can not go back…

With it the “200 in a day” was not a big job, maybe someone who did it manually could give you some tips but not sure how useful it would be after the update…

But money is not something everyone has lying around, and buying one device just to get to one goal doesn’t make much sense.

I’m also a frugal person, thinking of my needs over my wants when it comes to spending. It’s how I was raised, as my family had what we needed, but the things we wanted we didn’t always get.

Totally agree, as said I got the original Go Plus cheap 2nd hand off ebay and it is a trap, once you use one you can not go back.

I normally claim that I am “Free to Play” but I have spent by using “Google Rewards” then spending their money on Pokemon Go
