Hi i recently did a pokestop nomination for my community park which a lot of people often gather and socialize a lot and it’s a safe environment to exercise or just hangout any idea why it got rejected?
Hello and welcome,
Are you willing to share screenshots of your nomination? We’re more than happy to take a look and see why it may have been rejected, and if there are any improvements that can be made.
Welcome to the forum! To truly help with this nomination we would need to see screenshots of as much of your nomination as you are comfortable sharing including the rejection reason, both photos, title, description, supporting statement, and location.
I didn’t see @DTrain2002 typing. Too many helpers can be confusing so I will step away for a bit.
It is already a Wayspot on Lightship:
When nominating, you can see other Wayspots that exist by clicking on the slider in the bottom left of the map in PoGo (I’m assuming you nominated via PoGo as this may not be a stop/gym due to the S2 density rule for the game):
it’s not though i can show you my map on pokemon go and there’s only the basketball court, horseshoe pit, and pool
and the gym is the gazebo not one with the title of play scape
what does the rule do because they also just built a volley ball court and i nominated that too
We’re not submitting stops/gyms for PoGo; we’re submitting Wayspots to be added to the Lightship map. Each Niantic game uses the Lightship map to determine game play locations, with the exception of Power Spots, and each uses their own density rules. PoGo uses S2 cells, while Ingress has a 20 meter rule.
More on the S2 cells can be found here;
https://pokemongohub.net/post/featured/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
so the stops have to be within 20 meters or outside of the 20 meter distance
Here is a map showing the L17 S2 cells if this helps you visualize.
I don’t see the volleyball court to see if that is alone in a cell.
Not for PoGo; the 20 meter rule is for Ingress, another Niantic game.
Please see the link on the S2 cells for how stops/gyms are determined in PoGo.
Looking at the Lightship map, I only see a basketball court in this park has a Wayspot, so if the volleyball court is new, it may get approved.
the just built it next to the basketball court i’ll show you pictures if you’d like
this hasn’t been approved or rejected yet though so i’m not sure what will happen
These are both in the same L17 S2 cell as well, so only one of these could be showing as a pokestop or gym. But the other could be used as a powerspot.
I don’t think there is a need to show us, as we can imagine it next to the basketball court. It’ll most likely be in the same S2 cell as the basketball court if approved.
Not to mention that the gazebo is in the same cell as the playground.
