About the Edits Challenge category

Hello Explorers,

This subcategory will be used to post announcements and updated from the Wayfarer Team related to this challenge and will also serve as the location for you all to post your questions, share successes, etc!

Help D:

Will the edit contributions reset daily or was this a one time thing?

You are eligible to participate in the challenge if you are an eligible Wayfarer Explorer (meaning you are at least Level 37 Trainer in Pokémon GO or Level 10 Agent in Ingress and have completed the Wayfarer Onboarding)

iirc, you have to be level 38 in Pokemon Go to submit edits. So level 37 would qualify to make nominations and review, but not to participate in this challenge.

I suggest starting new threads for new topics. Otherwise it gets lost in one big thread.

I can’t even find the announcement again without going to where it is pinned on WDD - I won’t bother posting anything about the challenge then.

I’m in the same boat as you. I saw the announcement earlier. I went to find it, I clicked the “Edits Challenge” button and there’s nothing here.

People who reached level 38 on Pokemon Go and Level 10 Agent in Ingress are eligible to participate in the challenge if they are an eligible Wayfarer Explorer.

But does the Wayfarer Onboarding need to be completed for both games for a hybrid person (a person who plays both games) to have edits from both games counted towards the challenge or do they just need to complete the Wayfarer Onboarding in one of them? We have Niantic ID profiles nowadays compared to the old days where one had to use either their Pokemon Go username or their Ingress username as a Wayfarer.

Only thing I can think that will stop them in Ingress is being under the level from recursing unless recursed agents are eligible like they are eligible for the annual Ingress badge.

recursed agents are eligible. each wayfarer has one id, so edits from both games will count for the challenge. i can’t answer from experience if you have to onboard separately. i have been eligible in both so long, but i only had to take that test back in the day once, so i don’t think you have to onboard separately.

I have tried editing a portal location in Ingress, but the feature seems broken. It allows to edit just a couple meters, but not enough when the location is wildly off.

There’s a 10m limit on location edits. You can request further moves on the forum or use the wayfarer app if you have access.

Great, the Wayfearer app worked well. Thanks!

Uh I did 5 photo submissions today. The ML loved 4 of them :sweat_smile:
I did all for the same wayspot and here’s the clue :hugs: the wayspot is a playground (1 wayspot) and I added photos of every item on there. There’s no chance for trying to add single items as a wayspot! Future trash avoided

Hi,

As someone who has only recently reached Level 37, when I tried to edit a pokestop about 10 days ago (the title and photo do not match the location and there is no description), the options were greyed out and a message appeared stating I had to be at Level 38. This was even though I saw some posts from Niantic Help stating editing was at Level 37. Apparently, there was a bug: Reddit - Dive into anything

However, I have just tried accessing the edit function again and it will now allow me to access the options, so it appears the bug has been fixed and the announcement is correct.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
L15

Thank you! All these years with the mismatch and they fixed it that quickly. I wonder what else they could fix?

Let’s think

Processing my 19 nominations stuck in the “in voting” stage would be a start!
