Active POI removal pursuant to wayfarer/niantic guidelines

Context: A cell containing two active POI’s
Prior Communications Incorporated; Gym was accepted to be moved by wayfarer but didn’t move - #32 by ASONOFYAH

Seeking removal of said active POI in pursuant with wayfarer/niantic guidelines.

Hi, I am not entirely sure what your request is but would just like to quickly clarify that there aren’t any criteria or guidelines that are rooted in whatever appears in any of the games. The game status of a wayspot is managed by game teams and is irrelevant for Wayfarer. If it is a duplicate or somehow meets removal criteria then that becomes Wayfarer’s problem - you could submit a removal request in-game or through one of the forms. At a technical level, the team will sometimes help on here with sync issues or “blocked cells”. But those things are not directly connected.

I will further clarify without sparing details so you can comprehend, a simple reading of the provided transcription would have been sufficient for the revelation of said claims of this submission on; community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com
I petitioned to this forum for the assurance of the deconsecration of a pokestop and transpose of an existing gym. It was approved for transpose, but never relocated. An ambassador assured everything was fixed but failed to deconsecrate the existing POI since it is not the dominate piece in play. The gym is the rook in play for said cell. Ambassador Aaron did move the gym but there is still two POI’s in play in one cell. I am seeking the removal of the inferior POI as two POI’s in one cell is in violation of wayfarer/niantic guidelines. A cell down the street had a removal of a POI with the same status. Two spots in one cell. A spot that no one reported, was next on my list, a completely ignored spot removed. Which is good, but peculiar that it was removed but not the one that was reported. Someone claimed it might be in sync tomorrow but that cannot be because it was reported and a non reported issue was fixed today no more than 200m from reported issue. I’m renewing a submission in assurance of deconsecration of inferior POI “in loving memory library reading benches” in pursuant of wayfarer/niantic guidelines. Another submission was necessary as ambassador Aaron marked my submission as solved when it was not. In fear of being ignored or dismissed due to the submission being tallied as solved, I submitted a new claim. Just like you did to this one so I’m reposting.

As you can see two stops are in one cell
Further clarification;

Aaron is not an ambassador, he is a Niantic Wayfarer employee.

There is no such guidelines as Xenopus pointed out in their detailed comment to you.

Just to add, Pogomap is not official and all stops / gyms are entered by its users therefore it is not always accurate (users can drop the location on the map) and often out of date.

Please Note: This is not an attack on Pogomap, I use it often but you have to be aware of it’s limitations.

So explain this then

He liked a comment saying two cannot be in the same cell. So what’s going on over there?

Additionally it says ambassador in his name. So I’m addressing him as he presents himself.

Thats ambassador Xeno, not to be confused with NianticAaron.

Did you not say this?

Please keep going I’m screenshotting this all for the help chat in game. Ambassador abuse is wild. Why did you lie to me and say xeno clearly stated it’s not in the rules and I showed you he liked a comment and now you are trying to switch the topic and deflecting?

Yes. Xeno made a detailed comment to you… however you are mixing up two different people. I pointed out that NianticAaron, who you referred to as an Ambassador, is not an ambassador.

Why does this take priority when you suddenly get caught lying? Xeno clearly doesn’t believe what you said. He liked a comment about two not being allowed in one cell. That’s a blatant lie. Either that or you made it up without asking him. Which is a lie still.

Where’s the lie?

Don’t not see what this says and who liked it? Someone’s lying

A like doesnt mean they agree with everything in that message.

Woooow. Hahaha what does it mean then? I think you should stop speaking for him and let him articulate himself. That would be wise. Farewell

You’re very welcomed to post the source of that criteria/guidelines you speak of.

So basically, when you submit a location edit through game and it gets voted on through wayfarer and accepted, those location edits will typically result in the wayspot disappearing from Pokémon Go if it is moved into an already occupied Level 17 S2 Cell. This mechanism exists to prevent unnaturally dense clusters forming through abuse.

However, when wayfarer staff perform a location edit and it doesn’t go through the wayfarer system, these edits do not always cause a cell recalculation, so the wayspot will sometimes remain in the game even if it was moved into an already occupied cell. I don’t know if this is intentional, an oversight, or something that’s done at the discretion of the staff member who performs the edit (given that they can obviously decide if anything abusive is happening or not). It would be nice if staff could clarify this, as I’ve seen it happen a few times and it does seem at odds with how location edits are resolved when they go through the system normally, but whether they will comment is entirely up to them.

I will say that I’m not the one running the system and I’m also not an ambassador, I’m just a forum member who can only post my own observations of what sometimes happens, so please view my reply as just that - my own observation of this particular subject.

And this is after you have “spoken for him” several times in this thread…

To get back on point, Niantic have never discussed the S2 Cell System. This has always been the players that identified that this is what is being used.

The normal process is that only 1 stop / gym should be in each L17 cell but it has been noted on several occasions that there are exceptions to this rule. Whether this is an error or design it is up to the Pokemon Go team to decide whether they wish to correct.

In regards to “Likes” people will often Like posts where someone has made some decent comments, it does not mean they agree with every bit. Plus I would be fairly sure it wouldn’t be legally binding

Ps. Please screen shoot this and add it to your Ambassador report. I like a good laugh…

Hey @ASONOFYAH ,

I want to remind you to follow community guidelines while interacting with other members. We understand disagreements but being disrespectful or using derogatory remarks in not cool.

There is nothing for the Wayfarer team to ac t on at this location. We’re constantly making improvements to Pokémon GO and occasionally, you may notice changes to the PokéStops or Gyms in your community.

Thanks,
