Another way spot removed?

Hello, I recently started some confusion in the community with my Burnt Bridge Crest nomination, so I decided to nominate a little library that was within that same neighborhood, as there are two little libraries in neighborhoods nearby, so I thought it would be perfect! It got accepted after I upgraded it, and it’s been there for a week

now, but now it’s mysteriously vanished, just like my other one. What is the reason for this one?

And to add on to this, I really think niantic should start sending us reasons for removal so we don’t have to guess on why.

Without being able to see the exact location, it’s hard to say, but it looks like this may be on private residential property judging by what I can see in the surroundings.

I would guess that this was removed for being in someone’s yard - SFPRP (single family private residential property) is not allowed. Do you have the coordinates that you pinned at from the submission email?

FWIW, I am glad you keep coming back to the forum, and I do agree that it would be great to get the removal reasons so this doesn’t happen over and over.

What does your supporting photo and information look like?

34°17’28"N 84°11’31"W

That’s the Google earth cords, don’t know if that’s exact though but that’s where I put it

This is a location that I would not have submitted, but I can see why you did. It looks like the homeowner’s property extends to the street, but I do see white low fencing, and this is on the road side of the fence.

Do you have evidence that this is not private property and that the homeowner had permission to install it there?

Here are the two pertinent clarifications:

Considering that there is a question of the location being SFPRP, and that street view does not show the LFL, it would be helpful if we could see the supporting photo.

This Wayspot was located on the property of a private residential property and as a result, it was removed.

It doesn’t extend to there, its neighborhood property.

you mispinned it, it’s right in front of the house.

Intentionally misplacing the location could be considered abuse by the way.

The object in question is located on the property of a private residential property and Wayspots are supposed to be placed on top of the objects they represent.

Ah ok then, I always thought there was some distance allowed because in my experience as a POGO player, I’ve seen some pokestops up to 100 ft away from where it actually is. That is my bad I’ll try to always be as accurate as possible.

That only exists for neighborhood signs, apparently.

That’s most definitely never allowed and should be reported if noticed.

Will do thanks everyone

Wayspots must be on the real-life location of the object that is the wayspot. For some things, like LFL, there is very limited scope for choosing the location, as the object is less than 1m across. For other things, like football fields, there is wider scope for choosing the wayspot location.

If you’re able to locate the actual location and are willing to take the time to correct it you can use the wayfarer website help chat to try and move it to the correct location. If the location is incorrect but less than 10m off (fixed it ) you can edit the location in pogo.

It’s only 10m
