I really hope that you guys put a stop for I tried to pin it I was struggling to pin it where it needed to be that home houses disabled and handicapped children and they love playing Pokemon go and there’s no stops for them to get to and they deserve to be able to spin stops not just on outings when they very rarely get to go some of those kids live there and don’t ever leave they are incredible kids and it would really mean a lot if they could have a spot there I would love to see their face shine and smile to be able to spend stops when they want to please accept my quested poke stop for them.
Welcome to the forum.
If this is a single family private residential property (SFPRP) then anything pinned there is specifically ineligible:
Forum members cannot find your nomination to vote on it.
Pinning a point of interest away from the actual location is considered abuse.
Would you like to tell us what you submitted as the focus of your nomination so we can try to help advise you whether it meets criteria? Or show us screenshots of your contribution?
I applaud you for wanting to make kids happy. But that is not a Wayspot criteria.
Hello and welcome @ohmiewan
As has been said we can’t assist with how a submission gets voted on.
However we are very happy to try and help establish how feasible your idea is, and if there are any other suitable places.
To do that we will need more information about the scenario.
I told you I was having a hard time.. it is absolutely not a single dwelling building there’s more than 37 kids in that building. getting it to pin to where the building is I can resend a s satellite pictures so you can see that it’s not a dwelling that we’re doing it is a building next door to a dwelling. Do not want any children in the picture that I sent so I sent just the fenced in backyard..
Best Regards
Unfortunately, wayfarer is not about getting pokestops simply where people want them or feel they deserve them. It is about getting people to explore where there are interesting things that make suitable wayspots.
People who live somewhere with no pokestops and who cannot get out to somewhere that has pokestops are probably better off with a game that is suited to this, not one that is based around exploration.
Thank you for clearing up that it is a substantial property..
It is not easy when you are under stress.
If there is a specific way we can help - other than voting- could you please provide further details so we can help.
That is unfortunate as they are disabled it’s unfortunate that this company is being like that for children I don’t know how much longer I will keep my account.
I will find some of the stores that are literally right across the street from them that do not have spots then and send those in one of the dog washing place
How does a dog washing place meet any of the criteria I linked in the first comment of a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social? If you can convince people of that, then you can submit it. If not, it is unlikely to be accepted.
If this facility is solely for children then it will be something that is specifically excluded as places where the focus is on under 18 years are not allowed.
If there are suitable places nearby then these can certainly be considered and approved if they meet the acceptability criteria. We would be happy to help you select and make a good case for appropriate ones.
You mentioned outings in your original post. If they go regularly to the same location then optimising that area to make playing Pokémon Go whilst there an extra activity.
That is understandable there is a little teeny dog park / dog wash place where they can get groomed and pampered that people will walk up to from a community garden up the street to get their dog pampered but I understand about the child thing
Hey there @ohmiewan I’ve been following this. Can you tell me a little bit about this picnic area?
Not being familiar with the area, this could be a chance for you to nominate and get approved.
Please don’t use this pic as it is from maps.google.com and is a third party photo.
From looking at the map, I think that area is under the trees marked with the X
Am I on the right path here?
That is part of the picnic court yard then the community garden is to the west I believe
A community garden would make a fabulous POI nomination. You could definitely nominate that and if approved, you’d have a Pokestop/Gym there onsite. If you want suggestions on the description and supplemental. Please let me know and I’ll help.
Okay Thank you so much.
Hi. I want to caution you to be certain you understand the function of this facility before you submit anything here. A few of us ambassadors have looked at the map and done some research on the building. It’s not easy to figure out, but we’re leaning towards some evidence that this is a hospice facility.
If that is true, then many Wayfinders will consider this a sensitive location and reject anything submitted here. I can’t tell you that this place is undeniably ineligible. But I can tell you that it may not be worth your time and mental frustration to submit it. It absolutely is not worth risking your account to misrepresent it as something it is not. You have to be very careful with these kinds of medical facilities.
Thats okay.. I just told the older residents I would try. I will let them know that we can’t do it . Its really okay.
I wasn’t sure about it since most of the hospitals have stops. ![]()
Best Wishes
