No, I live in Japan. I’ll put this gently, but I also think the team made the change at a bad time. If this change had been made today or tomorrow, it wouldn’t have caused this much confusion. But please wait another two or three days. It probably won’t recover completely, but it should recover somewhat. I’m hoping things will get better.
Yea. As fellow indonesian, i can feel the frustration. I am hoping 4sep will bring some powerspot back

Thanks for the message but is it possible to get a confirmation that things are likely to change with a “Power Spot Sync” on the 4th.
This has been a massive assumption in replies above.
I believe they should but I do not have concrete information to commit to it. All I can assure you is that we will take every necessary step required to make the situation better.
Thank you
I’m sure those affected will appreciate this

Let’s hope for the best
Yeah. For Indonesia (West Indonesia Time/GMT+7), the power spots sync usually happen around the 5th at 5 AM. For India (GMT+5:30), probably around the 5th of the month at 3:30 AM. Although in my experience, the new powerspots can be delayed to appear around 10-15 minutes.
Thanks @gchirag007! The screenshots are super helpful! I’ll make sure we take a look at this location.
Thanks @NianticAaron!
@SlimboyFat71, confirming NianticAarons response. We got confirmation from the team that once the PowerSpot rotation occurs, new PowerSpots will appear on the map.
You guys are very innocent.
Even if you enter the next turn and a new power spot appears, it will only solve big cities like Delhi or Jakarta, never rural areas.
Because cities already have many wayspots, including imported powerspots, in the same cell.
But the “remote and rural areas of India and Indonesia” that you intended to save with this update do not have that many POI assets.
Therefore, if the “only” import powerspot that existed was converted to a pokestop, you would just be left with a pokestop.
It will never be a power spot.
You are not working for Delhi or Jakarta.
I do. And not just that, we’re 7-8 weeks away from GO Wild Area event. In my current location about 90% powerspots have turned into Pokestops.
@NianticTintino I hope your team revert most upgraded Pokestops back to powerspots. And no, we don’t want to see any more junk imported into Wayfarer to become powerspots.
It’s not the best solution, but are you able to do some kind of “Wayfarer Drive” in your community?
Something where those L35+ can go out and nominate Wayspots, even those that won’t become PokéStops, to try and get some decent possible Power Spots by the time that event rolls around? Could encourage others to swap their bonus locations to those areas if possible?
The phrase used was “new Powerspots”
I would interpret that as you keep the ones converted and you get new powerspots generated.
That the new ones could include previously unused wayspots,
Its a fair question to seek clarification about.
I understand your frustration, but remember. This was an action by the Pokemon Team. Not @NianticTintino. I don’t think he can unilaterally reverse their decision. As he has said in previous posts. He is taking all the feedback to the Pokemon Go team.
As I have seen around my area(india) Google Street view was last updated around Jan 2024, and most of the nomination which gets accepted is clearly visible on Google Street view (L35+ Wayfinder use these Mostly ). convincing them with supplementary information (recent Photos) that 20 months is plenty of time for a place to change drastically is near impossible and Some people don’t feel satisfied with the IRL photo of the POI so they use Ai to Nominate Waystops.
Recent update L37→L35 requirement for the wayfarer nomination flooded already long queue with Ai Slops and SFPR Nomination (How this gets past The Emily i still have know idea).
Some people don’t like the IRL location and “Using Ai” to make it more appealing Nomination for wayfinders.
They are Busy Submitting their Home as a gyms/pokestops (AI Slops and SFPR) they don’t review much and if they do review i don’t think they follow the criteria properly like @ElfFromSpace mentioned previously .
Fake nominations are always going to happen, these should be reported for removal.
2024 Street View should be perfectly adequate for most nominations. Niantic are not expecting you to visit every locations so using street view etc will most likely give reviewers confidence it is there.
If you are nominating something that is too new for Street View GPSCameraAPP , making sure landmarks that are on street view are in supplemental image and the supplemental info should allow to to confirm it is there.
It’s visible in Google Street view but the present location is 10m away beside an Electric poll permanently fixed with cement.
That’s why it’s getting rejected as “ Not Unique”, and “Abuse” because It’s written in Local Language.
Even if I mentioned that it’s purely for Powerstop no luck so far (trying for 6 months now) ,we’re 7-8 weeks away from GO Wild Area event i don’t think it has any chance of getting accepted as Powerspot anytime soon
Do you mean you mentioned that in supporting information or description on Wayfarer?
After mentioning why the said nomination is eligible, i mentioned in supporting information “Powerstop” (10km away in town is the nearest Powerstop)
I know game specific Keywords isn’t allowed per say but still tried my luck
Don’t do that. It has no bearing on anything whether you need a Power Spot nearby and could be seen as Influencing Reviewers, which could lead to being reported and sanctions from the abuse ladder including suspension of your Pokémon GO account.
Don’t chance it
