Glad you trust the system. I cant trust the operators of the system though.
The forum is a good indicator, when we get “I have been banned for no reason” posts the vast majority are found to have broken one or more of the ToS.
Play by the rules and you are going to be fine.

I can’t believe people are missing the point.
- People playing Pogo are only doing this because Niantic are indirectly forcing or at the very least influencing them to do so.
- No where in game it is stated you’re submitting wayspot(at least till 2024 it wasn’t). Nor any information on cells. For all intent and purposes you’re blindly submitting and hoping it passes.
- If someone abuses the system just ban the account forever from submitting Pokestop and reviewing wayspot. The fact that you can get banned across all games of Niantic for something most people had absolute no interest in doing in first place is preposterous.

- So I think I am in right to warn users not to go blindly in. A warning/disclaimer that Niantic should give because the probability of getting banned doesn’t matter what matters is you know it exists.

Please do not spread inaccurate information about what someone would receive a sanction for as a result of participation in wayfarer. You are fearmongering.
The only reason people get sanctioned is because they act maliciously to try and gain an advantage. Malicious manipulation of wayfarer is done in order to gain an advantage in Pokémon Go, so it is reasonable a sanction affects both accounts.
If you work with what you have, take advice and stick to the rules you are not in any danger of a sanction.
Doing wayfarer within the rules will allow you to add to the gameboard. And you will then get a better gaming experience.
I have a great deal of empathy with the current situation you are in but it doesn’t warrant causing unjustified worry and stress in others.
This forum has provided a space for people to provide details of the issues in a respectful way so that those responsible can hear that feedback. The more detailed and varied that is of the repercussions the more useful it will be. You are getting engagement from staff and that does not always happen.

Eh! I am going to request please don’t gaslight me needlessly. I never said don’t use wayfarer.
In fact I’ve said this repeatedly in literally each and every comment that my experience with wayfarer has been fine but the fact remains Niantic don’t provide enough disclaimers/warnings to users before they start participating that all of your accounts are linked and it doesn’t matter if it’s obvious they should tell users. That is the only thing I pointed at. Why? my previous comment to this makes it clear.
I can’t believe a simple warning I offhandedly made thinking maybe someone especially if too old/young might not intuitively know the obvious is derailing the conversation this much lol.
I’ll make everyone life easier as I see I am not particularly welcomed here. No more engagement from my end. Let’s hope the matter is resolved amicably.

That’s not true. A vast majority of us do it because we treat Wayfarer as a game in itself. Some of us like Wayfarer more tgan the games.
True, but it is very well mentioned on all Wayfarer help centers and fora.
That used to be case but that was not enough to deter people from abusing the system as it was technically not a loss at all.

This is too much needless stress for me. I just expressed I want to end engagement and still got pinged immediately under it twice.
Please I request again other than official reply Tintino don’t ping me again. If my comments are that problematic mods can delete all of them I truly don’t mind well obviously except the ones I did to Tintino lol.

This update is a complete mistake.
And the issue is compounded by the fact that while this update says it is for the rural areas, the rural areas are suffering the most.
All should be undone once and for all.

My community is devastated, finding power spot for daily claim is hard now, cant they just reverse this, my area have a lot of gym and pokestop, people regularly submit wayfarer

They have taken away this feature of the game from us. I don’t understand what they were thinking making such a rollout without any proper planning. Even before rollout happened I specifically asked tintino how they will replace powerspots, and his answer was vague/community Ambassador oriented since the beginning. Look where we are now. It’s been a week and no updates or acknowledgement of the problem. Also no response on how they are going to fix this mess. Just replies from other community Ambassador/mods telling us to go out and create more wayspot, when we have already reached limit in our community meetup spots. Disastrous planning by this team.
I didnt want to criticize this update but no pokestops or gyms showing up in majority of the powerspots place and no clarification on how they will help us now is making me lose my patience.
In my area doesn’t even lack pokestop or gym idk why they are doing this

Those of you who have no power spots now, please let us know if any show up on the 4th of the month. That is when we have been noticing a sync of new power spots on the Wayfarer Discussion Discord. It seems to happen around the same time of day that Max Monday, Spotlight Hour, and Raid Hour happen (6pm) here, but I am not sure if that is true globally.

I live in central time zone and it happens exactly at midnight for us. So I think it depends on your timezone.

I have gotten a few power stops 1km further then they originally were and only in one side of the map. The other side have no power stops whatsoever, I hope more power spots get added soon.
Edit: I think they were also removed.
I had complained that my area only had two power spots. Well, now you’ve removed those as well? My friend has seven to ten power spots near him, and he didn’t even get gyms or Pokestops in compensation. I kindly request that you revert to the previous map.

Why don’t they just add If a rural L14 S2 cell has ≤6 total stops/gyms, guarantee 1 Powerspot in that cell, without replacing anything.
Is this really an update—or a downdate? What’s become clear is that this change exposes just how broken the PoGo and Wayfarer systems are.
At their core, they no longer function properly.
This issue wouldn’t exist if the mechanics had been worked out in advance. But they weren’t—because doing so would require major structural changes to PoGo, changes that city-based trainers would strongly oppose. The problem is easier to understand when you break it down:
Gyms: permanent
PokeStops: permanent
PowerSpots: rotating
Here’s the catch: if a rotating PowerSpot gets converted into a permanent PokeStop, the Power Spot disappears entirely. If you rotate all of wayspot—or pre-define the conversion priorities and ratios—you end up with a set number of Gyms, Power Spots, and PokeStops.
But because the underlying cell system is global, this kind of restructuring would spark even greater opposition than now, especially in dense urban areas where it would cause massive disruption.
So, you see the problem: this “update” is a dead end.
The only real options are to roll it back, force global changes, or fudge the system by importing even more low-quality location database.
The Wayfarer team needs to work with the PoGo team, own the mistake of rushing this change, and take responsibility by addressing it immediately.
Of course, apart from this, the divergence in quality between existing Pokestops and converted imported Pokestops needs to be explained in a way that is acceptable to all Wayfinders.
Please do this as soon as possible.
