New waypoints being used for max raids

It doesn’t hurt but it’s out of our purview. Let the Pokémon Go team handle their fire. It’s already been shown that the teams don’t talk with each other. This is all on Niantic, not us.

Take that up with the mods, ambos, and NIantic team. So far, none of them have had an issue with tis thread. You even got a response back from an ambo.

This is just me speaking, but we have limited talk about this new PGO feature to a single topic to keep it from taking over the forum. Anyone who doesn’t want to read this topic can ignore it like I did with the Routes thread on the old forum.

Yeah, I have no issue with this thread. It’s others that are saying they have issue with it. This thread has actually helped me with figuring out the weirdness of Power Spots.

so we still havent found the rules for them power spots?
Is it 2 Power Spots in one S2 Lvl14?

If there arent any things from Overture, the system is looking for the useless other things in the s2 lvl17 cells and chooses them. If there are Overture Things, they both have a possibility.

Not that I can see.

The Powerspot in a lvl 14 with 0 Lightship poi in it means they may be using either a different level or just pressing the randomiser button

My guess would be that the Library is in the Database for Power Spots as well.

Our local Swimming Pool has had an Arena for years. Directly besides it now sits a Power Spot with the exact same name, wich is, i think, from the Database Niantic uses.

Yeah, hard to tell if there is a density rule for the Power Spots. There’s a good deal of empty cells in my neighborhood, as most of the area has generic businesses and apartment buildings without anything extra.

There were 3 Power Spots at 3 businesses right next to each other the other day in my neighborhood, so, yeah, no idea.

BINGO!!!

I had a pokestop rejected, that’s fine.

On the other hand it’s not fine to use a rejected pokestop as a power spot, which clearly showcase the image I took.

Is there a way to request power spot removals?

I’ve never seen an image on a power spot, though maybe I’ve missed something since the feature isn’t fully rolled out here last I had looked.

I’d be curious to see how you know that this power spot is using your rejected nomination rather than information that happens to be similar. Or at the very least, I’d love to see what it looks like when a power spot has a picture.

Hi @heggland
Welcome to the forum :hugs:
How could you see an image?

Hi there,

To add to the confusion, Powerspots were placed by the Pokemon GO Team. Each game chooses which Wayspots to use for what, or don’t use at all.

The Pokémon Go Team has also used external sources without any quality control, so a bunch of ineligible things according to Wayfarer have been brought in. Do not use those as examples of what to submit.

This also means, your rejected nomination has not become a Powerspot, rather they have imported it through an external source.

Powerspots can be reported by tapping on them ingame, clicking on the Question Mark in the left corner, then in the following Exclamation Mark also on a left corners and then a report menu opens.

Currently, the reports are being received and reviewed but you will not receive a confirmation, nor a notification of the outcome.

How do you know that?

I actually had a Power Spot I reported as permanently removed removed within a few hours yesterday after reporting. It was a Sears location that had been closed for 5 years, and the area is now being redeveloped.

It may return though?

It was new yesterday, had the 2 day timer on it, and removed a few hours later. So, I’d say it’s not going to return.

There is another business nearby that has popped up twice as a Power Spot, and it’s been closed and redeveloped for years now, and I reported that one the first time it appeared, but popped up once more. It hasn’t come back, so I’m hoping it was removed.

How did you report it? In game or thru a online form/chat?

In game. You click on the question mark in the bottom left, then there’ll be an exclamation point at the bottom left to report. Here’s a post from the main thread with screenshots.

Thanks
