New wayspot «Street corner »

It’s incredibly attainable already. As easy as its ever been.

Exactly. It’s already an afterthought for urban players. If rural players are the only ones struggling to reach the level cap, then just lower it even further or remove it outright. It’d barely affect urban players anyway.

I would prefer if these where restricted to locations with low numbers in the region along the lines of…

Empty L14 cell where the L12 cell (2x2 L14) has a maximum of 4 waypoints (numbers can be adjusted by the experts).

I also think there should be an auto removal of these when either the “normal” waypoints increase or a cell with one of these gets a “normal” waypoint.

Allowing bus stops to be nominated anywhere is going to add a few to rural areas but flood other areas.

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

I do believe that it is. The idea is to “Go” out and explore. Why bother when you can sit at home and have numerous stops / gyms.

I play the game to push me to go out for short walks trying to improve health issues, I would be looking for another game if the map was flooded in this way (and I don’t think I am alone in this).

If that is what Niantic was wanting to do I suggest they just remove all the “Real World” waypoints and stick 1 in the middle of ever cell… :frowning:

I may invent a game similar to Monopoly where every square is “Go” so you just go round collecting £200 until the Bank goes bankrupt.

After that its Scrabble but instead of having letters on each tile they have the full word. Makes it easier and stops any argument about mis-spelled words…

I mean, how are more Pokestops and gyms preventing you from doing that, exactly? If you want to go for a long walk, then do that. I can hit two gyms, two Pokestops and one power spot from my couch, but I still go out plenty of times for raids, Dynamax battles, field research, hatching eggs et cetera.

I’ve also dabbled in Jurassic World Alive, a Pokemon Go-esque game, which wasn’t linked to real-world locations at all and just scattered their equivalent of Pokestops in random spots across the map. That game had many problems, but access to items wasn’t one of them, even in rural areas.

Thank you!

I didn’t say that it is stopping me, I said it gives me a push.

Health issues mean I am not going any long walks, about a mile is my limit. If this gets me a couple of Stops and a couple of Gyms I am happy.

Random locations would not be a problem, it would be the density that would make / break it for me.

As for Raids I normally drive to the local town park, short walk to a seating area where I can reach 3 Gyms then wait for the local group to pass.

I am not saying that everyone plays the game the same way I do but I think for a lot of people over saturation would be as bad for the game as the problem with the lack of waypoints in Rural Areas.

Are these eligible? They always seem to get rejected in my local area.

Thank you for the info - Idk, your employer made the decision to exclude them from submitting because of low level in Pgo. Now you say “people need more stopz to level up faster” - “so we just add some random stuff in those areas”.

It isn’t :rocket: :test_tube: to make the conclusion that a) lowering the requirement for making contributions would be the solution and b) not giving people the idea that this slop should be added by themselves, because it’s not eligible?

I don’t see the positive aspect here. I am rural AND we do have remote areas, and there is just always something good to submit, even in the remote areas. The threshold for new wayfarers is already low, you should come up with other ideas to promote rural and remote areas. I keep thinking your ideas are more usable for housing areas that actually don’t have anything to be submitted.

Maybe the focus isnt on true rural areas but on areas where a lot of people live but there are not many PoIs? Ie suburban areas that have a lot of houses and not much else, vs areas where there’s a lot of fields and woodlands.

That would make more sense and Niantic should address this more in detail.

One problem is that Pokestops approved as POIs and Pokestops imported at the sole discretion of the Wayfarer team look the same in the game.

This has a tremendous negative impact on Wayfarer.

Importing to support Rural and Remote areas is not a problem.

But that is Pokémon GO’s Job, not Wayfarer’s.

They should all be Pokémon GO or Niantic logos, not Pokestop marks.

And treat them like sponsored Pokestops.

I do like this, I will add to my opinions of how I believe this should work.

  • Algorithm so they only appear in “Waypoint Deserts”.
  • Image “locked” to show they are import.
  • Ability to replace with “meets criteria” waypoint.
  • Auto remove when amount of waypoints increase so no longer meet the algorithm.

IMO: Done right I can see this fixing a problem, done wrong I can see it causing more problems than it fixes.

Edit to Add:

  • Title to include identifier “ - Import” and also locked.
  • To be shown differently on the future map.

you just described the perfect solution IMO. This would also clear up many confusions among players.

Thank you for your comment.

I just await my “consultancy” fee from Niantic

You’re invaluable. No fee will be enough.

Clever wording  “No fee” will be enough

I am happy to take a “Token Gesture” of 0.1% of any PoGo Shop sales

On a serious note, could you confirm that these sort of suggestions are collated and past to the developers?

Is there even a small chance that someone’s suggestion on here (even if it isn’t mine  ) would be considered and possibly shape the way changes are implemented?

TIA.
