Stops and Gyms

hi, I am still new to this, I was able to get an PokeStop, I am trying to get an other one close by so it be an Gym, I know I need maybe one or 2 more spots close by so one will pop up as an pokegym, but the spot I am trying is… hard, I’ve Submit 7 so far and only 1 was accpeted, I want to try to get an gym right close, so when an raid happens for an mega evo or so on, I can invite an friend/s to help… I don’t really have any friends who play it where I live…
also as I said not much here that can be set up.
the following I haven’t tried. "
an small part of grass where kids can play small football if they want,"
“an Car park”
“an metal fent that many years ago was not there but now the field it conneted is own by an school close by”
“an sewer drain cycle cover on grass by an wall”
think I should try them?..

Welcome to the forum @Runnhurd

I have started a new topic for you so you can get specific support. We can offer the best help if you can share one or more of your nominations with us or at least the general area that you live in

Folks here are pretty good at this so feel free to look around and ask more questions :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

thanks, but as I said there not much here, I was hoping to use the 2 stone sit that has dumpershoots, but only one was ok, it say the other an copy, when they are some what far apart, and showing each other in the photos shots.

Maybe you could share more information about the grassy area / park with us? We may be able to give you tips on improving a second shot at it.

there not much here, it mainly apartment buildings, there an small car park for peoples cars who live around here, an spot that use to be use for hanging clothes to dry but no longer, there a spot with small building to put items in each person who live here has an key for, there an tall fent that block anyone going up on the field behind the buildings, cause it now own by an school close by…
I bearly got the “Ropemakers stone sit” as an wayspot pokestop, I am lucky that did get set as one, yet still hoping to try to get an pokeGym to… right close by…

Do the apartments have communal amenities like swimming pools or gyms?

nope, as I said there is an spot that use to be use for drying clothes but it no longer for that, thought sometimes it use for an barbecue spot when it sunny and hot.

Is there a grill or bbq pit there?

no, the ones they use are ones they have stored in their homes or in the back lock up until they want to use them, would it help if I say the Map spot? I am using Google maps to look at the spot right now, and it has an address name to find it easy.

Yes if you can share your neighborhood map spot, folks here can look around and suggest things.

on google maps it “Ropemakers Ct, Chatham ME4 5JD”
I want to try put an wayspot for an “pokemon Gym” close by where it say “11” thought there an normal “pokestop” at the stone sit that has an dumpstershoot close by it.

alright, but as I said there not much here, I mainly trying this cause I only go down town once a week, and I do like paying “pokemon go” but I miss out on so much.

Hello @Runnhurd
There are quite a few U.K. wayfinders that are active contributors so we know the sort of things to look for.

First there are some basics you need to understand.
It is not about being close by that creates a gym it is determined by a larger area using mapping software.
Please read and try to understand this article. It is a bit technical but it will help to grasp what it says
https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

This is your area. It is out of date as anything agreed since 23 May isn’t showing.
Cell 2 has 6 pokespots so 2 gyms and 4 pokestops so that area needs 14 more things before a new gym is created.
Cell 1 is more promising. It is showing 2 wayspots so 1 gym and a pokestop.
You mention getting something approved. Was it recently anpproved and where.
The area of the academy unfortunately takes up a fair chunk of the space and nothing on school grounds is allowed.
I will have a look around and see if I can see places for you to look.

Are the allotments already a PoI? Those are great submissions (despite sometimes being rejected by the ML, but that can be overturned on appeal or by staff here). Those are in cell 1 by the looks of it

I would also look around the nearby parks for trails, play equipment, picnic areas etc that haven’t already been submitted. Looks like you have 2 parks in the area? I would also look for unsubmitted entrances to the park areas.

Please say if any of these are in
The very large allotments - the great south allotment in Chatham

It will help if there is a sign for the allotments but not essential.
See this topic

It is very big so if there are 2 entrances it might get both.
Are there any notice boards or a central gathering spot in it.

Footpaths.
Public Rights of Way - PROW, are eligible for consideration. You do need to make a good submission in order for it to be acceptable.

The solid red lines are PROW the one that starts next to the school is RC3 and is about 1.5 km in length. What sort of signage is there along this route. As a PROW they should have signage even simple yellow PROW discs. The point within cell 1 is where it starts at the roundabout on Magpie hall rd. that is where to have a careful look.

The white road community centre is over a large area can you find any seating areas, play space, any plaques about its opening?

I have had quite a lot of success nominating public footpaths, cycling routes, and national trails all pinned to a variety of styles of sign. When nominating these, you’re nominating the trail itself, not the sign, but the sign is what is focussed on for the photo. The type of sign isn’t supposed to be relevant, so vinyl adhesives, wood, plastic and metal styles can all be fine.

I’m hopeful that you’ll have something similar in your area that you can keep an eye out for. I like to highlight routes that have some nice views, leading towards parks or other interesting spots etc.

Thanks for the tag! @Runnhurd What is your location? A few of us can look around for you.

They’re at Ropemakers Ct, Chatham, ME4 5JD, which is in Kent, UK

I look at the “S2 Cell” map, and I compaired it to pokemon go on my phone, there is 1 Gym and 2 more pokestops not shown, on it. going by that and the other cell, if I can get one more wayspot, that will be an gym, then after it would need 14 more wayspots if I understand this.
the best spot is behind the apartment buildings, I tried this kids small climb and slide that was put there, but that was rejected, maybe I should try see if I can take better pictures?
