I have had three contributions that were accepted and they never appeared in PoGo. I understand some pokestops won’t be in game even if they were accepted, but three?! My town is small and doesn’t have too many places to be candidates for pokestops. It is so frustrating.
Hello and welcome,
Sorry for any frustrations and misunderstandings. What we are actually doing is nominating Wayspots to be added to the database map. This map is used by the games to determine game play locations, and each game has their own density/inclusion rules. PoGo uses S2 cells, while Ingress has a 20 m rule. More info on S2 cells in PoGo can be found here:
https://pokemongohub.net/post/featured/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
Feel free to share the location of your Wayspot, and we’d b happy to check to see if it qualifies to be in PoGo or not.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. How can I share the locations of the Wayspots? Could you explain it to me in detail, please?
Locations are listed in Contribution Management. You can also provide the general location coordinates.
I totally beg to disagree
same issue… And I know there are a lot of wayfarer have same issue.
What exactly is there to disagree with? @DTrain2002 has explained exactly how the system actually functions.
I also can’t say from experience that a lot of Wayfinders have this issue, unless they are new. As one that knows the density/inclusion rules, I have had some Wayspots not get into any of the games, and I’m ok with that. What we are doing with Wayfarer is creating a map of real-world POIs that is used not only by the games, but also by app and software developers. Educating others on how these rules work is important in understanding why an approved Wayspot may or may not show up in a game.
Its never about the number , so before you submit, make sure the check the s2cell boundry so you will know ahead whether your submission will appear in pokemon go or no
2 posts were split to a new topic: Approved wayspot isn’t showing
The best place to get the GPS coordinates of a submission is from the email you get right after submission. The coordinates appear directly below the supplemental picture. Post those here and I’m sure one of us will look at the cells for you.
@cyndiepooh where is @DTrain2002 and how did you manage to hijack their account?
Yeah, the other question was split into its own thread.
Hi, these are the coordinates (4.237608, -75.233402). Thank you in advance.
The S2 L17 cell in question already contains a waypoint. By PoGo inclusion rules, there will only be one that will appear in the game. You submission will help players in other Niantic games.
Thank you. Can you tell how to check the cells before submitting a Wayspot, please?
We use the Intel maps that come with Ingress along with the appropriate overlays. However, be careful in using the maps not to use it to game the system by looking to place POI’s in places where they don’t exist.
The link for understanding S2 cells was posted above. While knowing where the cells are may be useful, altering the correct position of a waypoint so that it appears in a game is considered abuse.
