i’m the superintendent (responsible party) of parkwood cemetery in parkville md and am wondering why all of the stops are gone here we have a few ppl that play while they are visiting their loved ones and just curious if there is a way to get them back.any idea who to contact about this?
Hello and welcome @Gravekeeper1989
As your query is a separate issue I ma going to split this off and place this in the appeals section which deals with restoration requests.
The wayfarer team can respond but if it was an owner request to have them removed then although you are responsible the owner may be the key person.
great thank you very much
Please have the property owner or a senior executive of the organization reach out to us using this link.
are you saying the owner or property manager had these stops removed?
Cemeteries are typically ineligible; please see this clarification: Cemeteries & Other Sensitive Locations
At this point, it does appear that only someone that ows and/or manages the cemetery can get the Wayspots restored. Being you are noting that you are the super of the cemetery, you would need to use the link provided to see if it’s possible to get the Wayspots back.
It feels a bit misleading to say cemeteries are typically ineligible. Many cemeteries have historical figures or significant community figures that can be eligible, given proof and the proper context.
You have to read the clarification to understand why I use typically.
That still doesn’t make the cemeteries themselves eligible, certain waypoints within them maybe.
Plus this has gone past this stage as it has been confirmed that this is a “removal by request” situation so whether they are eligible or not they are re-appearing unless someone with authority requests it.
While we can’t say if this is a part of this issue, it could be:
i’m trying to have the stops reinstated they have been there for 10 years and a lot of ppl that play and never a complaint. and with in 50 miles all but 1 cemetery has its stops still there. i’m just trying to figure out why they were removed. i’ve sent all the proper documentation to them but they won’t tell me why they were removed
could this be why the stops in my cemetery were removed?
It could apply but the best thing is to follow Aaron’s advice to contact the property owner.
Unfortunately, if someone with the authority requests there removal there is nothing Niantic / Scopely can do.
You would have to find who has the authority and request that they contact Niantic / Scopely to reverse this.
I think the Issue may be giving people false hope. Until we get further information from staff it sounds like some areas removed will be re-installed temporary but will then be removed at a later date, so does not solve the problem.
so once i have given all the information and the poke stops have been restored they say, how long until they show up again?
Keep in mind that this is info that is kept between staff and the property owner/manager as to whether the Wayspots will or will not be restored; this is all done by the contact info you provide, such as an email address. There’s no guarantee that Wayspots will be restored, but if they are, they should start showing up 48 hours after restoration by staff.
Great thank you for all your help. You’ve actually been pretty dang reliable with info and actually replying.
