Oh, that would be nice! It’s possible if the showcase flag is a wayfarer attribute, but harder if it is solely a Pogo attribute.
Can you clarify if you are trying to review/submit via the map page? The map page is view only.
Separate pages for reviewing and web-submitting are available on the side panel. Reviewing remains to be on a randomized queue and submission based on your current location.
Please check my DM.
It means it freezes and stops responding. Since I can only read and write Japanese, I couldn’t express it well. I’ve confirmed it works on the PC version of Edge and the iPhone version of Safari.
thank you very much for your valuable help!!!

This is immensely useful. Zoom aside, it’d be useful to see power spots that are inactive so we know which locations can be power spots. ![]()
You can now find the third party tools without joining the Wayfarer Discussion Discord! (But why wouldn’t you?)
Great questions!
Apologies I should have made it clearer that this first map is only v1
in v2 of the map we’ll be addressing the other components (i.e. metrics, including images to reports, etc) but didn’t want those to hold us up from launching the first version. Thanks for calling that out though!
Not a novel thought from me, but my first use feedback is ![]()

With the addition of some streetcorner spots to help out the rural folks, I’ve been trying to use the map to help my more tech challenged relatives that love PoGo but aren’t going to be getting on wayfarer to find where new spots are near them.
The level of zoom in required is quite annoying. To be fair, I am SO HAPPY to have v1 of a map versus nothing. But trying to use a map in a rural area is soooooo difficult and time consuming because I spend a whole heck of a lot of time looking at nothing.
I know 324879239847 people have said this already, but hopefully the team takes my additional message as a boost to prioritize being able to see spots further zoomed out.
<3 Thanks Wayfarer team
I think I’m the first to mention this issue. Currently it’s completely useless due to ONE thing. You have to zoom so far in for anything to show up.
Thanks for bringing that up! ![]()
You can write in your preferred language here, the forum has a built-in translator which may give gaps in translation but you can convey your idea.
But the browser problem is conveyed well. I will try to replicate this later.
If we can already submit removal reports directly from the Wayfarer map, it would be great to have edit reports added as well.
On top of that, this would be a perfect opportunity to loosen the distance limit for location edits and remove the cap on how many edit reports we can submit.
With those changes, we’d finally be able to fix the huge number of neglected Wayspots that can’t currently be edited unless someone happens to be online nearby. Being able to update titles, descriptions, and locations more accurately would really boost the motivation of Wayfinders who care about improving overall Wayspot quality.
Removal reports are especially important right now because so many imported PowerSpots include K–12 locations or duplicates. Having the ability to report these quickly—and even while offline—would make a big difference.
And if the current 10‑meter limit for location edits were expanded to something more reasonable, we could finally correct all those imported PowerSpots that ended up in the wrong place. Personally, I’ve seen some that were off by several hundred meters. If the limit were relaxed to a few kilometers, I’m convinced we could fix 99% of them.
There’s also a secondary benefit.
With the backend for Wayspot submissions basically empty right now, it’s become almost impossible to run a new Wayfarer Challenge.
These improvements could make it feasible again.
I wish the Wayfarer team will consider these ideas.
Thank you @PkmnTrainerJ for the inspiration to use the new map seeing your eagerness. I already was able to get an acceptance on a removal request testing out last night (P.S. I was told my reports are going to the email I guess I originally used with Wayfarer, not my gmail
).
I just want to point out to folks that although I like the in-person removals, as I like to take a photo in real time photo to support what I see, I was able to tell the Wayfarer Map report, it was unfortunately permanently closed and it was listed on google search.
Thank you everyone else too for all your inspirations and contributions to this thread regarding this exciting new endeavour! I wish you all the same success with this great new tool!
A reminder ( mainly for anyone reading) that locations can be updated by using the help bubble on your wayfarer page.
Often in person photos will help prove the necessity of the location edit. But you can attach other evidence. The team will then decide on the appropriate location.
Perfect. I was looking for that info on Reddit earlier.
I know that.
You mean the help chat that’s been around forever, right?
Most people don’t really like using it because it’s a pretty tedious process.
For example, say you want to submit a report to change a title from “Church” to “Cathedral of San Francisco.”
Hardly anyone wants to spend a bunch of time on something like that.
And of course, most of the help chat requests end up needing someone on the Wayfarer team to step in and handle them.
If people all over the world used the help chat just to fix titles, descriptions, or location info, the staff would basically have to replace their bodies with Emily’s and work 24/7. lol
I don’t think it’s right to bother the staff over something as small as an edit report, and I don’t want to rely on them for decisions at that level.
This is the kind of work Emily and we Wayfinders should be doing, and I’d rather have the staff focus on more creative tasks.
That’s why I’m suggesting something that takes about the same amount of effort as submitting edit reports from our phones out in the field, just like we’ve always done.
Thanks for your feedback @PokeOnlyDeath ,
I’m sorry that you feel this way. It’s one of the simplest least time consuming processes based on the community feedback. Could you please help us understand why you feel this way?
All Help Chat requests are handled by the Wayfarer team.
We have noted your feedback and shared with the team for their consideration.
Thanks,
I can suggest some points.
The flow for editing a location >10m is:
- Enter email address (often need to do this, especially on phones which clear old browser memory)
- Enter the Wayspot title (copy & paste or re-type)
- Enter the current location (copy & paste coordinates)
- Enter the correct location (copy & paste coordinates)
- Optional - supporting evidence / photo
If submitting the same edit via the map:
- Email is already known as user is logged into Wayfarer
- Title & current location is already known as you have clicked that POI on the map
- Correct location can be done by clicking instead of copying & pasting
This would reduce the the user input from 5 inputs (1 of which being optional) to about 1.5 inputs (1 of which being optional)
Additional sources of tediousness include:
- No email confirming when the ticket has been resolved.
- No notification confirming when the ticket was resolved unless you have the help chat open (or return to the help page and can see the orange bubble)
- No way to see the ticket resolution if browser memory was cleared
- Not able to submit consecutive tickets as you need to wait for the first ticket to be processed before you can make a new one.
All of these factors make it an inefficient process.
I agree that it is one of the least time consuming processes when compared to other Niantic processes. But that does not mean it could not be improved.
No, not at all.
Just because you find it difficult to use doesn’t mean nobody uses it.
There’s a Zoo near me,
with about 150 misplaced wayspots all over the place
I’ve updated the exact locations of 100 of them using Help Chat.
If we were just relying on regular review, I really don’t know how long it would take.
I also often use it to report trainers who abuse the Wayfarer function.
Many thanks to the Wayfarer team for creating this useful feature, although it may not be accurate every time.
