Wayspot was approved but not showing up in the map

This Wayspot below was approved (sometime in the beggining of the week) after appealing an original denial. I checked the cells and it should be the only one on its respective lvl 17 cell. Is there anything else causing it to not show up as a Pokestop? Or is it a matter of waiting?

It is there in Ingress and I don’t see anything else in the L17 S2 cells that would prevent it from going live in Pokemon Go as well.

@NianticAaron I know there have been a few cases lately where you have had to do something to make the Poke-thing appear. Is this the same thing?

These signs aren’t eligible, it’s a shame the appeal review team doesn’t know this. Can’t say why it’s not appearing in pogo though, it’s live on the ingress intel map.

looking at it on streetview, i can’t say i’d consider this to have safe pedestrian access either honestly. maybe it was re-reviewed and is slated for removal in all games?

all that said, there are a number of things in the neighborhood this sign represents which are eligible. you should definitely nominate them!

Oh I wish auditing were a thing!

Backing up what @tehstone said, I’d like to point out all the better places in this neighborhood you can nominate! Screenshots incoming.

Sadly not, it’s still in the database. I do agree with you that there seems to be no path up to it and it’s right next to the road. But I guess the grass behind it isn’t private residential property so it can be used to walk to the back of the sign. Still not sure how it’s meant to meet the eligibility criteria though :man_shrugging:t3:

First, i would edit the title for this to Playground instead of recreational park.

We might have locals who can assist with that.

You could nominate this clubhouse in the same neighborhood

You could also nominate the pool, but only the clubhouse or the pool would show up in Pokemon GO, and i assume that’s the game you care about.

Go walk around in this area. Maybe there’s a dog park or a gazebo hidden under a tree.

It would be difficult but you might be able to get it approved as a signless park.

This looks like a fire pit to me. Go check it out.

Completely agree, doesn’t meet any eligibility criteria and definitely no safe pedestrian access.

Screenshots were super helpful! It was my 1st time nominating stops so I’m still getting the hang of it. I’ll keep these in mind for the next time.

Oh btw - welcome to the forum.

As you can see, a lot of us are very enthusiastic about getting great Wayspots on the map, even if we don’t think this particular Wayspot should have been accepted. Let us know if this one shows up, and ask any questions you have about submitting those great suggestions in Nomination Support

If you want to learn more, our community has a Wayfarer meet-up on 8/24/2024. I can send you the details.

@NianticAaron any update/feedback on this one is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am not sure what kind of response you are hoping to get from staff? The Niantic team isn’t going to talk about inclusion rules for Pokémon GO and these can’t be reversed, and community members on here have already communicated their doubts about the eligibility of the object. Is there anything further we could help with?

I had mentioned that there had been a couple of cases posted recently where accepted wayspots weren’t showing in PoGo although they were eligible and had tagged Aaron in case this was another one that needed to be manually turned on
like this one:Blocked L17 S2 Cell

@Xenopus should this be moved to Bug Reports & Technical Support ? The portal is still live so the Wayspot has not been removed.

Here’s another case and this was posted in General Discussion POI not in Pokemon go despite being in empty cell

Sorry, for whatever reason I thought it was blocked by something not visible in Ingress, but it is not the case, I must have confused with another post. Let’s move I guess.

This was not an issue exactly. I have made some changes in the backend. The Wayspot should go live on the gameboard if eligible. Thanks,

but why are niantic reviewers approving these signs that local reviews reject as ineligible?
