Hello. My nomination and eventual acceptance pokestop has been on a rollercoaster of accepted then removed then reinstated, but after like of week of this, it finally ended and the staff decided to let it stay, and it has stayed for about 3 months now. However, today I noticed it was gone yet again, and I just wanted to get some staff confirmation on if this was final or if it will come back. I also do remember there being some argument and drama over this nomination, and I really don’t want to start that again, I just wanted to see if I could get some staff confirmation. Thanks!
P.s this is an older image, the description was changed by staff in the end to better suit the nominations history.
Hi,
Since you are requesting a reinstatement I shall move this to the appeals section.
I dont see any need to rehash old points.
This is the previous topic for reference.
Exactly what I DIDNT want. Totally agree, no rehashing please. I just wanted a confirmation if the removal is final, as staff have been motivated to reinstate it in the past.
Hey @Nj0820 ,
Sorry about the confusion.
We have restored the Wayspot. You should see the changes reflected soon.
Thanks,
Could you explain the reasoning here?
Undermining yourselves again. bad look.
Sure, this Wayspot doesn’t meet any removal criteria. This is why it has been reinstated.
Thank you for the reply. Can you list the removal criteria?
Edit: Obviously some explorers think this does meet removal criteria if this keeps getting reported, as well as some staff, if it keeps getting removed. It would be nice if removal criteria were made clear.
Removal criteria are guidelines for staff to review reports. You can report Wayspots that you believe are ineligible and we will review them per our policies.
That is exactly what I want to know. What are your removal policies? Or is that intentionally kept vague?
The removal criteria appear to be any of (1) SFPRP/schools/etc, (2) unsafe or lack of pedestrian access, (3) does not exist, (4) categorically/absolutely ineligible.
These signs are not absolutely ineligible. A generic street name sign would/should be.
You answering what Niantic’s internal policy is does not answer the question. I appreciate you trying to help.
I know ![]()
I don’t think Niantic will answer in more detail.
Great. Now you have @NianticAaron laughing at my question when I am actually trying to understand how to keep us all from wasting everyone’s time.
Editing if I can. A laughing emoji was removed. Don’t think I can edit a closed post though.
Well look at that. I was able to edit.
Sorry.
Although I don’t see these as generally eligible, I also see why they aren’t removed once they get added. It matches Niantic’s stance on other removal requests. Asking for clarification is like hitting your head on a brick wall (no offence intended to Niantic).
That’s not true.
The OP has received their answer, I will be closing this discussion from any further engagement.
