Oh yeah, I donāt mean the way it used to be with OPR Live at all.
I mean the current iteration where it is earned from the Challenges

To get through the backlog quicker and more reviewers (besides getting eMiLy back online & more accurate) could have a temporary POI (maybe in PoGo a power spot) that has some sort of voting thumbs up or down if it exists, take a scan of it, and is it yes or no one of the preapproved categories.
Maybe make that something that you can only do after a certain level, or a certain number of wayfarer agreements (like after you hit 100 agreements youāre eligible to review in your game of choice) to limit who can interact with a potential POI.
Then normal players in game who arenāt on wayfarer at the moment but are exploring around town, would physically be in front of a potential POI and voting/reviewing it. Instead of just randomly getting them served & all the checking of Google Maps satellite photos. Especially for new things that arenāt on Google Maps yet.
But that sounds like a big build! Although this is my wishlist. Wayfarer Gods, hear my prayer for a beta test of it.
Well, this one is never going to happen, but I would absolutely love to be able to reach out to certain people who submit nominations. Some of them are trying so hard but they need assistance or a better understanding. I want to help them so badly.
OMG, yes, an ability to say the stop is good, but suggest a description edit right from reviewing. Or say, this is an eligible spot, but needs a better photo, so itās conditionally approved. Then via email or the uploaderās game of choice, they get a prompt to upload a better photo, etc.
I hate turning down great POIs that have an ineligible description or photo taken at night/blurry/etc.
When Niantic threw out the rules with the criteria refresh, reviewing was hard. The more clarifications they add back in, the more confidently people can review and submit.
There is a place for agreements and warnings to curb bad actors. Clarifications help keep people trying to use their best judgement from being caught up in these.
Niantic has shown over and over again that they hate to make clarifications. They never pick my questions for AMAās. So you donāt need to worry that they might actually choose my suggestion this time.
I did not rate your wishes as good, bad, or in-between. There is no need to try to correct my wish.
Yeah, 40 each on those.
Peridotās max level is 70, so maybe about 50 for Wayfarer access.
MH Now, maybe HR 110?
Pikmin Bloom, maybe level 80?
If peridot got nominating capabilities, UGH
Not to be rude but that game just is not for everyone. It also feels (is?) pay to win or pay to progress?
Itās no longer a pay to progress thing. The Nests do not cost Ā£5 now, and you get plenty of free ones for level ups, weekly walking rewards. I have never run out of free ones since they changed it.
I got a bad first impression. Iām sure i would play HARD if that game got nominations
Understandable. Many people got put off by the initial pay-walling.
I hear thereās a podcast episode (maybe a second one soon) that you may be able to find with interviews with Peridot staff that would explain it more.
To remove all those small roughly 2 inch (5cm) Survey marks disks from games and for Emily to stop anyone from reviewing ever again. If you want people to not nominate remove from gamesā¦ Simplesā¦
@cyndiepooh I agree on āestateā name signs. I get why people nominate. And sure a few are very interesting. But most are just signs and many donāt have pedestrian access and so on
I am also not happy with these shopping centre POIs advertising signsā¦ They drive me battyā¦ Love to have clarity. Particularly as most of the centres have cafes, playgrounds, art etc that must be surely more interesting than an advertising hordingā¦ ((EDIT this is about the signage with advertising - NOT the shopping centre))
Also want Emily to get better. Sure at her job. But she has been āillā so wishing her well.
Oh and decouple any wayfarer review rewards from specific game awards
IE. In PGO Get X medals move up a level. One of the quickest ways to a medal is to review at speed. Quantity met - quality not. .
And is there such a think as a Niantic stubby holder? One of those magnetic ones tooā¦ hmmmm
Donāt you need to get agreements for the medal in PokĆ©mon GO? So you could review quickly I suppose but you need to review correctly.
Those shopping center signs came from a criteria clarification. Personally, I donāt think we need more clarification on a clarification.
but why. I would not travel to go to one. I would not exercise at one and I would not socialise at one. I fail to see it . Note the Iā¦ Not a biggie - I just - ughhh
Hereās your why. Notice that the wording is always ācan be.ā We always have to exercise our best judgment. But many take these clarifications to mean things are āalwaysā eligible. As players interacting with things on the map, we donāt see the supplemental information that was used to convince the reviewers how the location is eligible to that community.
Dunno. I never knew it was a thing until after the fact for me. But people process quickly. To process as many as possible to get thereā¦ So yeah. But it is like gambling. You know you will lose more than win. But you do it as often as you can.
It is a theoryā¦ nothing else
I get the shopping centre Seaprincess. I donāt get the advertising sign. More often than not the centre will have the cafe, entrance hall way, playcentre, a sculputure/artwork also nominated or already accepted.
We will go in circles in this I edited original post to make clear. Not about the shopping centre but rather the advertising hording signage
I get thisā¦ My recent trips have all resulted in either wayfarer wins and or game wins.
I used up my quota pretty quickly in europe. Still not hard to find places that facilitate multiple noms (and that is without trail markers, post boxes, survey marks etc). Even in London!
As you say maybe 2 a day replacement rateā¦ Hmmm now thinking of all the extra noms I missed out on
@tehstone what is ārepurposingā
PS everyone I still want a niantic magnetic stubby holder.
Translation:
A āstubby holderā is an insulated sleeve, typically made of foam or fabric, designed to fit around a can or bottle to keep the beverage inside cool by preventing heat transfer from your hands or the surrounding environment; essentially, itās an Australian term for what is commonly called a ākoozieā in the United States.
Seems like something @holdthebeer would likeā¦
